I got a feeling Miami will win out.. they play good at home. As for winning this Sunday, the Jets defense needs to aim for Manning's mouth until they take him out of the game. Because even winning, obviously no lead is safe.. and if you let Manning come out for a game winning drive he will make it happen.
Whats a true Jet fan like? A "real" fan wants to root for a talented team and doesn't settle for the usual one and done playoff appearance. Anyone else tired of mediocrity?
Playoff considerations aside, I'll be watching for how we deal with a top-notch offense. It will be a real test for Ryan's defensive schemes & our talent. If we can score points, that'll be nice too. I've got some concerns about the cohesiveness of our team. It just seems to be somewhat lacking in locker room leadership. This team needs to establish a strong identity. Knocking off the Colts will be a good start.
It is absolutely acceptable to be fed up with the SOJ bullshit. You are taking it to a whole other level though. You should never, ever, ever want your team, the team you root for, to fail. Period. Why are you a fan of this team if you just want them to lose games, for a higher draft pick of all things? How does that not sound silly to you? Fans like you make me wish you were really cheering on teams like the Lions. Seriously.. Go root for a lion, please?
Everyones tired of mediocrity but if this organization develops a mentality where losing more games now will be better for the future, then were really fucked and won't ever be a legitimate franchise. We'll continue to be the laughing stock of the league. Thats how your team develops a loser mentality and will start to think they arent good enough to make the players or win a superbowl. Rex came here to get rid of the shitty attitude of losing. A "real" Jet fan would love to root for a winning team but until that time comes a real fan would continue to support their team even if they end up winless in a season. Thats what seperates the bandwagon fans from the real fans.
Actually, I do believe they have a shot against the Colts. they should be able to run on them, but can we slow Peyton down enough to win? that's the question.
We should aim to go 0-16 in each of the next five seasons. All those No.1 draft picks will really make us a contender then!
Revis was the 14th pick in the draft. Mangold was the 29th pick in the draft. David Harris was the 52nd pick in the draft. Pretty much all of these players will be here next season. Playoffs or not, it would be a HUGE boost for next year if they hand the Colts their first loss (manning or no) and if they beat the playoff bound Bengals at home (a place where they had some bad moments this year). More importantly, it would be fantastic if Sanchez actually played well in these last wo games heading into next year.
being the veteran darksider i am, me thinks there is a good chance the jets beat the colts and...........................the bengals. u folks fill in the blank jil
With all due respect. What the fuck makes you think we can beat the Colts at home?!? Even if they pull Peyton at halftime and the score is...lets say 17-7. Explain to me how our offense puts up more than 10 points in the second half to win the game. At this point I have zero faith in Sanchez to do anything except throw picks and look depressed. With that being said...we will probably will beat them. Everything else will fall in place and we will lose to Cinncy at home playing against all their backups 3-0. Sanchez will fumble a snap at the one yard line with 3:00 minutes to go. Some how we get a quick stop and get back down to the 2 yard line with 12 seconds to go..no timeouts. TJ will get the hand off with a wide open hole...he'll score only to get called back on a Hartstock holding penalty. 10 second run off...game over. I'm not even !00% sure if thats how the rule works but if theres a way to lose the game like that I'm sure we'll figure it out. This team could fuck up cereal.
yea i know sucks, and I know its going to be the Texans because Miami is the team we need to lose most, if they lose we have a bunch of different scenarios considering we win
The Jets will not lose on Saturday, or Friday for that matter. Didn't think this needed its own thread.
But you have to admit it would be tough for them to lose. Winning is a long shot too, but losing is completely out of the question.
