the nj national guard is a corporate sponsor.thats where the moey came from. if we are going to be outraged by this we should be also be angry with the tv networks who are taking money to air the armed forces branch commercials, or the production companies that took the money to produce those commercials. the military has and advertisement budget and they are going to spend it somewhere.

Pretty big non-issue. I don't get what the fuss is about. You have to pay for advertising and that's exactly what the Army does with this.
Ummm...You may be a little late to this game... But.... Here's a clue...(First one is always on the house) Football...and...FWIW ALL Major league sports are ENTERTAINMENT. Hence, a large swath of their revenue comes from......(drum roll please...) ADVERTISING. That's what the National Guard is paying for. Getting their message in front of several million viewers, a large portion of which happen to be of enlistment eligible age. Or maybe you thought Budweiser and Geico were just there for jollies too...
Here's a clue for people of limited intellect - political and religious messages are different then commercial messages. If someone wanted to pay the Jets to fly a Nazi flag they would say no, for good reason. Its the same reason they should say no to other political and religious messages.
Allowing The Armed Services to advertise to a mass audience, (On the cheap no less) is almost a public service. Ad time costs way more than that, and several of the teams mentioned got thrice what the NYJ got. But at the day, It's Advertising. alcohol, politics, or the Services... I guess the General was also of limited intellect. Advertising the ANG, is NOT a political message. It is a commercial message....
