Jets' Washington unsure about training camp because of contract

    The Jets cannot pay Leon Washington feature back money. He's not a #1 back and he never will be. Sure, he's a great kick returner and he's dangerous with the ball in his hands, but he's not worth that much money.

    If he keeps demanding this much, I say the Jets don't pay up and franchise him - LW will realize he's crazy when no other teams offer him that kind of money.

    +1 sure he's a threat with the ball in his hands but he has not done anything to be worth 6 mil a year.

    In defense of Leon... what is he supposed to say? It's not like he can go out and say "Don't worry, I'll be at training camp no matter what"... it's the only contract leverage he has!!!
    In defense of Tanny... the guy is NOT worth 6 mill... 5mill would be a rip-off and 4/4.5 would be fair... my guess is 4.2 with lot's of incentives (to bring the total up to 5 mill) if he really turns out to be a feature back (which he won't)...
