They are similar players, DeVito is the better player thiugh.Neither offer anything in the way of a pass rush and both are good against the run and tying up blockers. My point was cap savings with cutting DeVito (3.1 cap number this year if I'm not mistaken) instead of the 700K with Ripoti. I don't know, I would rather have 2.2 extra in cap $ then paying 3.1 for a 1 or 2 down player.
Hence the additional 2.2 million. I don't argue that DeVito is better, just dont know if the difference is 2.2 million better as they are similar players.
I think Ropati's size (i.e his height) sometimes worked to his disadvantage. Often I'd see blockers get under his pads, 'root' and totally halt his upfield surge.
Not trying to be snarky, but the difference is/was Devito was/is a starter and Roparti Potato (sp?) never cracked that limit. I'm actually a little surprised at the concern on this thread. Potato (sp?) never did much, it was just the size and a few Rex HardKnocks compliments that were intruging.
Guy was big & slow. Really never made any impact plays. I'm glad he's gone. Gotta trim off the fat & add more might, size, & speed. I would luv to see the Jets sign another NT.
seriously?his name's in the title and you still couldn't spell it right.or were you trying to be funny?
Hmmmm. Humor fail is always disappointing. But I am a bad speller and I doubt I have ever spelled his name correctly.
