He lead with his head. If he lead with his shoulder, his head would have not been the part of his body that hit Hill, and Hill was also a defenseless receiver. Two violations on that play.
we need dependable receivers in the worst way...clyde gates did well but who really trusts that asshole..
Such a huge drive to end the half. But I am still scared for the second half. They have been jamming our WRs and we have not been able to pass protect at all. Geno has been getting killed with no time to throw. He is going to need to hit a few big plays like the one he missed to Hill to get the Steelers to back off.
There's the defenseless receiver idea, I don't really know what it means. Maybe that's what some people are thinking here
Rex in the off season said he was going to be aggressive, his coaching philosophy has changed. Its really big if we can execute. Belichick went through something similar to back in the day.
Correct, defensively receiver can also apply to this situation. But it's most common when WR are hit in the middle of the field and don't have time to react. I think sideline/boundary catches are different.
Great playcalling by OC on final drive. Jets haven't had play calling like that since the Walt Michaels era.
I agree. The jamming the WR has really slowed down the plays. I'm not really sure how you beat except running more so there's no safety help if the CBs keeping jamming
