Royal, Mark rode the coat tails of all pros all around him when he went to two AFC championship games. His role was to not fuck it up. Ever since the organization has asked him to lead the team (like a #5 pick should) he's been nothing but a disaster. I understand your desire to not want to kill one of your own players, but you also have to allow yourself to be a realist! What has Mark shown you over the past few years that leads you to believe that he is a "franchise quarterback?" Honestly, at this point, it just seems like you have a crazy man crush on him!
not a bad point. Jax will give us a 4 for him I think. In all seriousness I may get killed for this but I am all for seeing if Greg McElroy is an NFL caliber QB at this point.
What exactly has Sanchez done in the past? Ride a top 5 running game and top 5 defense to two playoffs? While throwing interceptions left and right, fumbling the ball and completing less than 55% of his passes? Yeah, he really has accomplished ALOT, he's been a bottom 1/4 of the league QB in every regard every year of his career. He's got a slow release, reads defenses horribly, is slow to recognize a reciver is open, AND when he does see a receiver open he usually throws it BEHIND the receiver or over his head, or in to the ground. He has zero pocket awareness, often gets sacked when all he needs to do is step up in to the pocket. The only thing Sanchez has EVER done well overall is get lucky landing on a team with a ton of talent to that he could ride to two playoffs on.
agreed. What's sad is I don't know if we're that far off from contending. But with this offense being as bad as it is as well as the offensive coaching beingas bad i just don't see it.
Obviously you're from another solar system. In this one, lousy QB's get benched, and the Jets have only one QB who has proven to be lousy.
Should we offer him a lifetime contract for that? Every player in the NFL has a window to show that he's got something. Sanchez is a fourth year starter completing 53% of his passes--which is just a little below his career average. How much more time are we supposed to give him? And yeah play Tebow. The knock on Tebow is that he's a sub-50% passer. Well, Sanchez is a 40% this game.
