Agreed he's not top notch but maybe with decent teaching--still, wayyyyyyyyy better than say Jeff Smith--no knock on Smith or Smyth but Perriman is a thoroughbred. He's got all the tools imo. I'd be happy to have him with TL at the helm.
Do you think it's fair to compare him to Braylon Edwards? I think so and that's a damn good WR to have in the stable. If we had a decent QB and OC he'd be contributing. Would Edwards do anything with this team--no way.
did gase accept responsibility for play calling yesterday? or is he still on the old the oc is calling the plays even though he doesnt have a playsheet and i do and hes talking to others between plays while i am talking into the headset that goes to the qb schtick?
Know what's even weirder? We rank 28th in the league in first quarter points scored at 3.5 pts. Even with those first drive scores.
he is such a psycho. my god he is the absolute worst head coach and possibly person to ever coach the jets. i hated the way herm used to always deflect blame from himself but this guy is just on and entirely different level. i also thought herm was a good guy just a deflector, i actually like him as a college coach. this fucking guy though.... god i cant wait until he is gone. i mean we cant possibly hire a worse head coach can we?
Not always. Last week against Oakland, I thought they made good adjustments at the half running behind Becton and Elflein. Even though down, they came back nicely in the second half. In this game, there aren't many adjustments you can make when you're down 20 at the half. The other team knows you have to throw the ball to catch up limiting your options and making defense much easier.
Agreed. He doesn't get any separation (none of the Jets receivers do) so Darnold's passes have to be thrown perfectly. Some were on Sunday, but they slipped through Perriman's hands as he went to the ground. Okay, if you need to go to the ground, fine, but at least hold on to the ball for chrissakes if it hits you in the hands! An NFL receiver should catch those balls.
O-Line did look decent .. Sam's indecisions were apparant (Sam is ass) .. Perriman was not garbage imo .. If he were on another team(Panthers) and healthy at the start, I feel he would easily put up similar numbers or better as that 1 trick pony. Same goes for Berrios .. He can make plays .. maybe more if used properly on another team or next seasons team. Becton is a mainstay in Studs nuff said there. The only thing that bothered me about Maye was his injury history .. When he is on the field he is a good player. Hopefully we don't dig deep in our pockets to resign him because I don't think he is worth a big contract. Hall had another bad game but I see a decent future for him .. Same for Austin. It's obvious we need a true number 1 corner but those two can be decent along with Poole. Everything else mentioned is filler material imo lol. Thanks for the post.
based on what for perriman? he's never had over 650 yards in a season. he's been let go from 3 teams in his 5 year career. all he can do is go deep. he drops anything if a CB touches him and sometimes when he is wide open. he doesn't get separation. he's just not a good WR in any sense of the word. and I don't think we resign him either at this point. we need to land a big FA WR, draft 1 high, have mims and crowder. perriman will go disappoint elsewhere.
He was open numerous times and was thrown bad balls by a timid QB. He is not a #1 by a long shot but he should be resigned as you can see he does have quality.. Especially if he comes at the same price.
