Favre and the offense and the starting D looked good. Thats all that matters. Nugent will be fine. He is a good kicker.
1) I think Mangini thought there was a chance that they wouldn't get another play. 2) From what I understand of Mangini, he may actually have wanted it to be exactly like an end-of-game situation where the team took a timeout and Nugent had to think about it. Rather than just running on the field and kicking it like a normal FG.
Oh please it is the friggin pre-season. Who cares if we win. What did we learn tonight? 1) Favre can run this offense. He looks to have a great relationship with all the receivers. 2) The Oline has GREAT chemistry and should be greatly improved. Amazing protection. 3) Ratliff and Clowney look to be the real deal. 4) Starting defensive unit kicks serious ass. Negatives: 1) A fifth-sixth string WR can't catch. Who the fuck cares, cut his ass. 2) Mangini tested Nugent by putting him in a high pressure situation. And he choked. Lets see how he reacts from this point on. All-in-all great production from a preseason game and there is ALOT to be exited about this season. So everyone get a damn grip.
I was shocked to see that many people for a preseason game and then I was in more shock to see it empty out after halftime but then again its preseason and mostly everyone wanted to see Brett.
I think the decision last night to kick the tieing FG had nothing to do with Nug or game situations. I felt like Mangini was going for OT because he wanted to get Ratliff a few more looks.
