Alright my nervousness is gone. Last year when we went to war in the playoffs all we had was like Revis and Mangold defensively. Now we have Kris Jenkins, Jason Taylor, Antonio Cromartie, Brodney Pool. The Cavalry has arrived. Theirs no way the Ravens score more than a touchdown on us.
You didn't know Joe Flacco and the Ravens offense have morphed into Peyton Manning and the Colts offense? I wouldn't be surprised if both teams scored below 10 points in this game.
If it looks anything like this tonight we should be ok  Guess Madden doesn't take suspensions into account...
all i know is its 9:00 im at work untill 2....leavin for the game at 3, nervousness is gone, now i just cant wait to get in there and bring the noise.....its going to be insane in there......:breakdance::breakdance::breakdance:
I am nervous about this game. But then I am always nervous about Jet games. Still, I fear that the Ravens have a better offense this year. Unless the Jet D wins it on turnovers, it will be up to Sanchez to lead the team to score enough to win. See why I am nervous?
Me neither. Despite the reasons for optimism, and I don't really think it is SOJ thinking, I really wonder if the team gets it together. I love Ryan. His style, his knowledge of the game, his being himself, the way the players seem to love to play for him. For a rookie HC he did quite well last year. All that is great. But if the Jets fall flat this year, all that will mean nothing. The first game against the Ravens offers the ability to make a statement. A win would be huge. Unfortunately a loss would be hugely bad. I watched the Pats a bit yesterday. Of course they were playing a rather mediocre Bengal D. But their offense looked sharp. Let's put it this way - gotta win tonight.
Cincy looked like a hot steaming pile yesterday. No mistake the Pats played well, but Cincy was atrocious early, especially on D.
Agreed. If for no other reason than just momentum. Because the Pats, even with the Moss BS, have got to be feeling like world beaters now (ignoring the fact that the Bengals played like total crap). Add to that the fact that the Giants had such an impressive win in the home opener, a loss for the Jets tonight will open a shit-can of nay-sayers and people just dying to punce and say "see the Jets suck!"
I am afraid so. Despite the fact that the Ravens are one of the best teams in the league right now, a loss definitely would bring out all the I told you so's. Tony Dungy would feel the loss was God's work. Pats fans would be more unsufferable than usual. Giant fans would say they are the best team in NY. Normally I wouldn't care about most of that crap, but feeling bad about a loss, my guard would be down. Jets better win for my sake. Heh.
The only reason that I'm concerned is because the Ravens are a legitimate title contender themselves. On paper, I think that they're improved from the squad that curb stomped New England in the playoffs last season. I feel pretty confident about the Jets winning 10 games this season. But this one, with suspensions, injuries and first game jitters, might be the toughest match on the schedule.
So far the most valid reason I've heard that Jets fans shouldn't be more than cautiously optimistic is because "they're the Jets".
