I don't know what to expect for this game. GB's chances rely heavily on rodgers' arm. If we slow down or shut down the pass we'll cruise to a W. If not, it could be a long day.
I think Revis and Cro are going to have a great game. Rodgers is going to get his passes picked off. The Packers played a good game today and still almost let the ol man beat them. The Pack is lucky that they were able to hold them off in the fourth quarter, but good luck with the way the gang has been playing. :metal:ricky williams:jets:
green bay can't run for shit. and they can't really stop the run. AJ hawks and clay matthews are the great white hope at linebacker but their guys up front aren't dominant run stoppers. i thought they were overrated in the beginning of the season personally, and now that they're injured they're very unimpressive. Vikings lost because of that bullshit reversal on the shiancoe TD, and childress's horrible coaching (having 2 timeouts at the end of the first half with 40 seconds left at their own 36 and running out the clock, as well as the no challenge on the first TD by the packers. They also play poorly on the road. And i've watched a lot of aaron rodgers this season, and i can tell you the guy makes critical mistakes at critical times (or their guys commit dumb penalities). Everyone loves rodgers and i think he's a pretty good QB myself, but he loses the game at critical moments since he's been in the league. part of that is shitty protection and part of that is bad decisions. pretty confident about this game. if finley wasn't injured, i might be more worried because that guy is a nightmare to cover. antonio gates light having 2 weeks to gameplan and prepare doesn't hurt either. that's a lot of film time
Why are there always posts every week saying we should have no problem rolling over "insert team here" this week? It's the NFL, anything can happen any given week. It looks even more ridiculous when it's against good teams (such as the Packers). We hung on, fought tough, and barely beat the Broncos. The Raiders just absolutely humiliated them. Does that mean the Raiders are better than us and should beat us? No. It's going to be a tough game. The Packers, while injured, still are a tough team. The Packers need this win more than the Jets do. The matchup isn't great either for the defense. Stopping the run has been the defense's best attribute this season while defending the pass (especially against multiple receiver sets) has been the weakest link, which plays in Green Bay's favor.
because there predictions are made on paper. and guess what...if you picked the jets to win every week, 5/6 ain't too bad on picks is it? Yes anything can happen in the NFL on any given week. No game is a gimme. But looking at the stats, past performance, intangibles (playing at home, etc).....you can't help but think the jets are the favorites. You can't make a prediction based on "oh, we could lose because anything can happen...so we probably will". We have the best record in the NFL, we've beaten some good teams, and we're playing at home against an inconsistent, injury depleted team...with 2 weeks to prepare against them. what more besides a back to the future 2 almanac do you need to say that we can most lkely win this game? do we roll over them? Probably not...but it's a game we should be able to win. I've watched every packer game this year and i can tell you they're not even close to the elite of the NFC right now. They've gotten better about the penalties this past week but holy crap, between them and the cowboys i've never seen two teams shoot themselves in the foot so badly, so often. and like I said, i've seen aaron rodgers made critical mistakes in very critical moments for the past 2 years+. i stopped betting on them because of that Their offensive line played really well tonight surprisingly. Chad clifton was lights out. hope he doesn't have a repeat performance but it's tough when rodgers has that type of protection
i didnt want to start a new thread for it, but i met santonio holmes at a club in the palms casino in vegas friday night, appearantly sanchez was supposed to be there too but didnt show, i said to him hey shudnt u be studying film and practicing he said dont worry we're ganna beat the fuck out of the packers, they arent physical like us, i said i hope so and dont get into trouble, he showed me a bottle of fiji water and said i got u dog...thot u guys wud enjoy the story
If the Jets truly are playoff bound, as many on this board are believing these days, then this Packers game should be an easy win. Packers just left everything on the field against the Vikings. They are on a short-ish week going from a Sunday night game to an early Sunday game. The Jets are coming off a long bye week. Packers are missing key players and the Jets are almost completely healthy. And, we have the much better coach. The only thing that gives me some concern are pass interference penalties. The Packers love to just bomb passes and see what happens. If we get another set of shit refs who call anything as pass interference, we got problems.
shit I thought I was going to be able to make "Jets vs Packers Discussion thread" DAMN YOU SOXXXXXXXXX!!! edit: Greg Jennings is 5'11, Donald Driver is 6'0, Donald Lee is 6'4, James Jones is 6'1, Jordy Nelson is 6'3(Wayne Chrebet color) shit their wr's are kinda tall, and one is a Wayne Chrebet.. THIS SEEMS LIKE TROUBLE. We will NEED the defensive play book from the Chargers game last year.
the most compelling factor to me is always: who wants it more. If the Packers want this game as badly as Denver wanted their game vs. us, then they can easily win. I personally think the injuries have taken their toll on team morale, but I am definitely worried about this game.
couple notes about some comments, bulaga is playing RT and the packers arent on a short week the packers have a dangerous screen game, might give our overload blitz some problems. also, if kyle orton can scramble like that on us were gonna have to seriously watch out for rodgers ... i would like to see cro + help on jennings and everyone else man up. james jones is gonna be a tough assignment for coleman on offense we should run down their throats and attack their secondary with double moves ... also woodys gonna need help when mattews is on his side
And after catching the Phins coming off their Bye week. Did you see Denvers performance at Home against the Raiders, after catching Baltimore and NY back to back? GB will be hard pressed to not get taken over like a Drunk Sorority girl at a Roethlisberger party.
I was thinking that, but then I thought it'd be better off. They just came off a tough loss against Miami (where they held Mathews out to get ready for the Vikes), and if they were to lose last night they would be extremely fired up to get a much needed win. Not saying they won't be fired up, but I think winning last night lowers the heat.
The Jets offensive line is much better than the Vikings. If they can slow down Matthews then Sanchez should have enough time and will hopefully look better than he has the last couple of games. On defense the Jets won't need to worry much about the GB running game so the focus needs to be on Rodgers. He is emerging as one of the top 8 or so QBs in the league and handles pressure very well. However, he is susceptible to defensive confusion and the interceptions will be there.
I agree, all of GBs weaknesses are all our top strengths, which are many I know  Whilst I'm not complacent, I'm certainly not worried about GB at all. BTW, Revis Tweeted how great he felt today.
Did you guys see how off Rodgers was yesterday? Particularly in those quick back shoulder routes that so many teams run? He wasn't even close, the wr had not even turned around yet and the ball was already sailing out of bounds. If Rodgers and the wr's don't fix that this week in practice, with the blitzes we'll be sending at them it will be 10 times worse. Our success on offense will depend on how well we can protect #6. I was honestly a little worried about going into Denver. I knew it wouldn't be easy. I feel good about this one though, especially at home with 2 weeks of gameplanning for Rex and Co. We handle this one by 10+
Yea the timing was off horribly, I'm not sure what you can attribute that to. I mean I know he bumped his head but it seemed like it was the first OTA of the season on a lot of those passes.
