keeping it vanilla? can't speak for the lions game, unless they were afraid of the pass rush jags they seemed to want to run the ball more
I have to give McElroy some credit for patting Geno on the back there when Geno looked really upset at himself on the sidelines.
Yeah looks like a rookie. not ready for game 1 yet. They put him in tough situations, he threw a lot backed up to his own endzone.
The sad thing is, our 1st team O is/was still out there. Pitiful, just pitiful. Ivory looks fucking terrible.
As bad as the QB situation is the fact that Ivory is this terrible is bothering me far more. We have 33 rushing yards. That is pathetic.
since I'm not watching the game I won't comment on the sack other than to say at least he didn't panic and throw a pick 6. But to say whether it was an "acceptable" sack really depends on how quickly the other team got to him and what options he had available to him...if the rush got there quick enough that he couldn't get outside the tackles there isn't much you can do there, but if he had time to get outside the tackles he should have.
I don't think he could have gotten around the edge, and while I bet SC and twitter makes it seem like the Lions guy doing it, it was one step and he threw. Just lost track of it and had no room. I think he didn't reach the LOS with his throw, but I only saw on replay. Don't get me wrong though, it was a bad play. Terrible play. I bet there was checkdown somehwere, MM has shown some really good playcalling. Geno panicked and gave up 2 points.
The pressure was pretty quick. He probably should have known where he was, but he didn't have all day and a ton of room to throw the ball.
exactly. If a starter gets hurt right now, off with Rex's head. Absolutely no point in having them in the game in the late 3rd-4thQ. None.
