Yep. Losers lose games on purpose. I like the Jets going for the throat. They've got nothing to lose and beating the Fins is better than beating any other team Pats included.
Because that would give the Fins a better chance to get back in the game? You go 2 minute drill when you have to do that to win, not to give the opponent a shot at field position and another FG or worse.
Can they stop slobbering over Ryan and his "innovative blitzes"? He surprised people for the first half of his first season. After teams caught on they since regularly pick up and burn his blitzes, and he hasn't come up with anything special to counter. Another tale in the myth of Rex Ryan.
He's a great field general and a LB of a different generation. He's had great seasons for us, and I'll also miss seeing him go. But the dude has to go. We need LBs who can at least somewhat not embarrass themselves in coverage.
Harris is one of the best linebackers that ever played for the Jets. A hunter that always delivered the hit. The years are starting to add up, but he has been a great New York Jets linebacker. There is no argument.
They know that Rex is going to be doing TV with them next year. Why burn bridges with one of your own.
Yup. Maybe you run a kick back and score or set yourself up with great field position Maybe you hit a big play and set yourself up But nah, lets just play that conservative style of football and try not to lose the game. And to be fair, Rex isn't the only one who does it. But it's still frustrating.
He was a very good linebacker for us, but he's just not built for this new era in the NFL. He's a run stuffer, that age of linebackers is over. He's too slow and unaware to cover anybody in space; running backs, tight ends, slot guys, you name it. I'll miss him too, but I won't miss the coverage breakdowns in the middle of the field.
It's ridiculous. Especially at 2-9. Be aggressive and try to win the game. Dolphins hadn't seen Geno throw for most of the half either lol, so the Jets had the upper hand, something new.
No, you do that whenever you need to score and in this situation, to evaluate your damn qb. This season is lost anyway. No need to pussy out and let the clock run out. Evaluating players is more important then winning at this point.
Fins had no timeouts -- you can see where the run back takes you. If you get a big one to the forty (possible) go for it. if not take a knee and go to the half. The Jets are not a good team, but any good team would be looking to get the ball back and score points there. Especially with the Fins getting the second half kick --- game can go to up to scores to tied without even touching the ball.
Then he should not be in at QB if you have zero confidence on a 2-9 in the signal caller that you expect a turnover. If the Jets didn't have timeouts, I could understand but at least take one shot on 1st down, burn Miami's final timeout if they choose to on 2nd down and then take the clock down to zero. Maybe Harvin gets a great return, you never know. Its all if's now.
The Jets are evaluating Geno because they were still losing big time with Vick. There's no reason to create an end of half scoring opportunity for the opponent in that process, not with a lead.
Losing to the Fins would be worse than losing an additional opportunity to evaluate Geno. You have to take your shots when they make sense. You really want the crowd booing at the end of the half if an int happened? What would be the point?
