Someone posted during the week that he was looking forward to the game in the event they took the wraps off Geno last drive... they did it, by accident
Give me a break, the refs overprotect every QB in the league outside of ours, the Jets get screwed on those calls all the time including this game and you're mad when one goes our way? wtf is that?
Why call it just against the Jets? I think Mingo "got away with one" in the refs eyes even though that was a fair play but I think the refs got put in a spot to call that with it now being the 2nd time the Browns have not let up on Smith running to the sidelines. Make up call. Been two lousy calls vs the Jets, the 1st neutral zone infraction and the Richardson roughing the passer.
Yeah that makes no sense. If that's Brady or Manning that guys probably getting a fine as well you don't touch the QB when he's 5 yards out of bounds
So you don't like the rule but you're going to celebrate when a ridiculous penalty gets called in a meaningless game? Weird logic.
Geno flopped, but the defender doesn't have to touch him in that situation. There are no flags for flopping in the NFL, that I know of. I've seen QBs flop worse than that then get up and be laughing about it, because once the defender touches the QB, he messed up.
I remember that hit Josh Bush had on Drew Brees that was roughing the passer. Hit him square in the stomach. And this was an actual penalty on Geno.
Plus it made 0 difference in the end...Winslow got within a yard and a half of getting 7 but in the end a 45 yarder is the same thing as an extra point for Folk this year. Crazy perspective there.
He was pushed already out of bounds. I don't see why you're so upset. Yea he flopped but it would be a bigger crime if the refs didn't throw the flag because that was a penalty
maybe he's auditioning for his next football job: "see, I'm not a total wild man, I'm going to coach by your book, take the FG, and hope for the best
What I think about the ruleS are irrelevent, they are what they are and our team gets 3 QB calls against us for every one that goes our way. It was a textbook penalty as the rules are written, it's nothing but nice to see it even out just a little bit. The Richardson hit and the one on Brees which was just brought up are perfect examples of getting totally screwed on clean plays, meanwhile this was not even close to legal.
No one alive thinks this is a penalty. Including the ref standing a foot away from where the "shove" occurred that didn't throw a flag.
I hope MM doesn't go back to the dumb playcalling. Just keep up what we did at the end of the half. Geno can run and pick up this first down easy
Great playcalling by MM. Close your eyes and imagine Paul Hackett and Chad Pennington from years gone bye.
