I have a novel idea, how about we get a new OC that can draw up plays where we utilize Holmes talents? This organization just kills me with how they bend over backward for Brian.

    Get Martz.

Holmes has too much guaranteed money to be going anywhere. Rex needs to rally the troops next season and undo all the negative karma that Holmes brought in. It's going to be a good test of his coaching abilities because there's no X's and O's involved with this. Think this is the first time since Rex was hired that his locker room is in turmoil.

    You can say that again.

You keep bringing in second-rate guys, then expect second-rate results. Picking up other teams' scraps, picking up guys just released from prison, can we please just do it right this time? Look at who's coming on the market(VJax, DJax, Bowe, Colston), we need one of these players, and we need to draft a receiver as well.

Gotta love how this Jets "veteran" is perfectly fine lowering Santonio's trade value by making this kind of statement. What a team player...

I suspect that comment was from Brandon, not LT

I can (to a limited extent) understand Holmes going a bit stroppy - all WR are divas and all want to be top dog - he is playing for a team and in a system that is killing his career - what chance has SH got to make the pro bowl, secure lucrative endorsements, shine in front of his peers as a Jet with Sanchez throwing and Brian scheming?

He would not be the first sportsman to act up or agitate for a trade to get to a better team or one that would suit them better at least.

he should still act like a professional but lets face it regardless of how much they get paid there are very few truly professional people in sports

this crap is all over the media right now

fuck wayne hunter. he is one of the worst players in the nfl. i dont care how hard he tries, there are thousands of guys that try just as hard if not harder and never make it to the nfl. santonio holmes is one of the most talented players on the offense and we are patting wayne hunter on the back for giving him shit?

dogging it is never acceptable but the frustration on offense stems from horrible o-line play, of which he is one of the main culprits. redeem himself by doing what? starting a media controversy during the last 2 minutes of the last game of the season?

holmes should have been called out, but not by hunter. and why the fuck are people taking hunters side over santonio? all hes done has call out the absolutely horrible offensive line and then people dont like his demeanor when hes not making the playoffs/not being used properly. i get it you want him to be such an upstanding citizen that nothing will affect his demeanor, but im sick of it. he is right. this offense was pure shit and although holmes fucked up a bunch at the end of the year, the problems were so much deeper than just him.

nobody wants to talk about how schotty turned down tone and others when they wanted to make adjustments to the offense and allow for in game changes to routes ands tuff like that. maybe stuff like that pisses the players off because the offense is absolute shit to begin with and when they want to do things that will help, or at least make them feel as though they are doing everything they can chemistry will improve. if a team is dying together they will not fall apart but if they are just stuck doing as a coach says and failing things will get bad as we all saw.

somebody should have taken hunters job a long time ago. santonio will have a job anywhere he goes.

tone isnt even stirring up media controversy

he declined to comment if im not mistaken

the line needs to go minus brick and goldie. they are the divas of the team, soaking up the media spotlight, trying to take the blame off their own shoulders by saying santonio caused chemistry problems

    this is bullshit

Even if the situation is so bad that there's "no way Holmes can come back next year," I just don't see how he can be ridden. Between his contract, the Jets' acquisition of him for a 5th Round Pick, and this (the Jets) being the second team to expel him, why/how would any team want him?

Despite his poor 2011 season, Holmes still has immense talent, and it'd be both more practical and beneficial to keep him, get a new OC with a new system that spreads the field, and patch up the locker room issues.

I don't think they should let Holmes come back, but with that contract I don't see how he can leave

no we have to do one or the other.

kerley is firmly the no.3 wr

    holmes is coming back

we can't sign another wr and use a draft pick on another when we have other issues to address

We should totally trade Holmes. The fact that we were 8-8 and our offense has been predictable for the last 5 years is completely his fault. I know secretly, it's him calling those 5 yard curl routes on 3rd and 8.I'm sure, as captain, he was responsible for running a play action pass on 3 and 18. Furthermore, theres no doubt in my mind that he put molasses in Eric Smith's shoes. His terrible demeanor as a captain is what made Eric Smith blow a tackle and let Tim Tebow win a game despite having him perfectly lined up for a sack. Theres absolutely no room for competitors who don't accept losing and piss poor play. We have a committment to mediocrity here and anyone who's not on board needs to go!

I think that's pretty much it. If they can figure out how to move him without hurting the cap I'm sure they will.

We just gave this guy a 50 million dollar contract, he's not going anywhere.

We knew what we were getting 2 years ago, there is a reason Pitt let him go for a 5th round pick. I don't expect the Jets to let him go the same way, they will work with him and keep him. To be honest, I can't blame Holmes for the way he acted against the Dolphins. His starting QB was doing nothing for him all game, and barely even looked in his direction when he was getting open. Sanchez was more concerned with finding his dump off option, which resulted in 2 picks and other poorly thrown passes to backs. Kind of ironic when the point of dumping the ball off is to not make a mistake, eh?

Regardless, Holmes is not going anywhere. The Jets should resign Braylon on the cheap if they plan to bring back Sanchez, the 2 had great chemistry. Plax should get at least a 1 year extension as well, and we are set at WR.
