Slauson or Turner are more likely than Hunter (I have heard some talk that Hunter might be tried at guard, but I don't see him ahead of the other two at this point). Personally, I think it is a smokescreen all this talk about dumping Faneca, but we'll find out soon enough.

Seriously.. I mean yeah he wasnt the best pass blocker, but he was a great run blocker and got better throughout the season as he got more comfortable in Callahan's blocking scheme. To be on the hook for his salary and still want to get rid of him just doesnt seem to make much sense on the surface, unless they can get some picks out of it.

so they can use those extra picks to trade back up in the third round or earlier in the 4th if there is another player they are after. it's all just a game of move back in the 1st or 2nd because the player you want can still be had a few picks later, but have the versatility to move back up later in the draft for a player who might not make it to you later on but isn't slotted to go in the 1st or 2nd.

Didn't The Broncos give up a 2nd, 3rd and 4th round pick to move into the first round to get Tebow? I would have loved if the Jets did something like that if they didn't like the board. I am very happy with our pick, though.

What the hell are we doing? Faneca is average at this point but cutting him just created a hole.

I think FS is our biggest hole right now. We have three average/below average players there.

Faneca is the weakest link on the line. I wouldn't mind getting a replacement, but it does seem cheap in an uncapped year...

Hopefully the Jets respond by giving one of our own a long-term extension.

I know I did, I was bitching about him all year.

I dunno....I think his run blocking was OK but he got beat in pass protection a few times. It is funny how in his first year he was helping brick and teaching him his ways and now Brick's the man and Alan is the weaker player.

Everyone did, but there's a difference between wanting him gone with only our fan wishes on the line and wanting him gone when you have to write him a goodbye check for more than $5 million.

I'd rather see the Jets pay him $5million to not be a turnstile between Mangold and Ferguson than see the Jets pay him $5million to get Sanchez killed.

Yes, because clearly we have a certain better option currently on the roster. That argument may have worked if we got Iupati yesterday. Again, no problem trading him if we like Slauson or draft a replacement.

ive been talking Ducasse up to Badger since late Jan early Feb.

would take him on this team in a heartbeat.

although Id really like to nab Gerhart/Hardesty/Tate

OL/DL is a bigger need but i like the talent at RB in the 2nd. either way id be happy

If we can get him, that would be fantastic. I doubt he'd still be available at our pick, though. I see us going DL.

Sorry. Rather subtle on that one.

I'm glad we didn't trade up. More picks + one of the top-rated corners in the draft was the way to go.

I'm on board with losing Faneca if it allows us to trade up in the 2nd round:

Maybe Faneca + 5th rounder to move up 10-15 spots.
