This is all I was waiting on at this point in time. I wonder if the trade was in the works this morning or post-Hack comments of frustration this afternoon.
That 7th rd conditional pick does save Macc some measure of "face" as he can say he got something for his 2nd rd. fck up.
Somehow this hurts almost more than just releasing him at some point if you think about it. As a fan I think one of the goals for the Jets going forward is to actually convert a couple of their 2nd round picks into something good. Maye is a good example. How nice for the team is it to have him instead of nothing? Over time it kind of starts to make a difference in how good your team is.... obviously.
And there you go - Hack's chance to show how stupid the Jets are. Or his chance to fully expose how delusional he is. Anyone want to take any bets on which it will turn out to be?
In 14 years as an NFL coach his teams finished in the top 10 in passing offense exactly 3 times, so maybe Hack should stick with Christensen.
It's actually amazing that a team would give up anything for a guy that has shown no sign of being able to play QB in the NFL past his freshman year of college.
