I'm assuming that the conditional 7th means Baltimore only gets that pick if he stays healthy. I'm not all-in on trading picks for injury risks, but Douglas still knows people in the building in Baltimore, so maybe he knows a little more about the situation than the little blurbs that we do.
I was in the middle of editing that and got a phone call I had to take. Re read it, wasn't meant as an argument, was only having a little fun.... Unfortunately got derailed
I figured... I think I said that about Leo...? Yes? He's one of the "faces" of the franchise. Winters is a different story.
JD is doing what any GM would be doing at this time, his HC is pleading for help on the OL because they know Bell and Darnold aren’t going to do anything unless the OL and the depth is beefed up. The draft will speak volumes about JD, I’m just getting the popcorn ready for the start of the regular season.
He started for a playoff team last season. Why was he going to get cut? And why is he depth here? It doesn't add up. I think he's here to compete for a starting job.
He plays both sides. Makes total sense given the Qvale injury and the fact that we have only one guy on the roster that can play LG outside of Osemele.
Meh. If Maccagnan makes this trade he's ripped for it, but we all love Joe Douglas now so.... It's called a honeymoon.
Didn't know he's played on the right side, but warrior stated he believes he was brought in to start. That's what I replied to. Don't think that's the case.
i'm inclined to believe this. winters and osemele are the starters. Lewis will be the primary back-up for both guard spots
Ripped for it? That's dramatic. I'm pretty sure people would rejoice that Macc finally thought about the OL. I agree, he's not here to start. And hopefully he never has to because Osemele and Winters are good OL.
Anyone who posts they’re luke warm cause they didn’t want to part with a conditional 7th shouldn’t be a fan.
I'm not sure about that. It's a decent trade no matter which GM engineers it. A conditional 7th rounder for a spot starter/depth guy with an injury history sounds about right. The Jets need the depth now and wanted to beat out SF and AZ just in case they had plans on claiming him. If it's for a 5th rounder or above not such a great trade.
I like the Lewis trade. When healthy, he's a serviceable Guard in the NFL with starting experience. Osemele and Winters have had some injury issues in the past, as well as Lewis himself. This addition allows the team to go with Osemele+Winters as starters and Compton+Lewis as backups, both with prior starting experience. This is GREAT for the team. I'd also like to see them put Morgan on the PS, as I think he can be developed. I'm guessing that Braden may be out of PS eligibility, as he's been around on that for a few years. If Braden is eligible, stash him on PS too.
