This was before we knew the trade info, and most of us that were agaisnt it are just agreeing that he has potential and hopefully plays up to it.
im glad we now have a solid #2 corner whom we shouldn't be guessing on if he'll be able to play come game day. now if we can sign rolle and trade rhodes for a pick this year my 30th bday will be a good one. lol
we do not need marshall for our 1st unless someone offers edwards something and we get a 1st and 3rd for him. using our 1st on marshall doesn't make sense.
Yeah no shit. Unbelievable. I'm glad we adressed the need at CB and gave up a pick in NEXT year's draft. Whether it works out or not is TBD. But I'm happy with the pickup.
I'd also put good money on the pick being largely based on where the Jets finish next season, kind of like the Favre trade. I'm thinking that if the Chargers had to opt for a pick in 2011 they were desperate to make a move, maybe enough to make it even more in favor of the Jets than we'd think. Plus, Tanny isn't the type to make a move that he isn't coming out clearly on top.
2011 conditional makes this an awesome trade. if it were for the 2010 2nd rounder I'd be fucking pissed off. Tanny is a beast.
It sounds like a fair price. If he lives up to his potential it will be well worth the 2nd it turns into.
yeah knowing tanny it's probably something like we have to win the superbowl for it to move to a 2nd, which id be ok with. lol
NFLN Reports Jets trade Conditional pick for CB Antonio Cromartie Jason La Canfora is reporting it is a 2011 Conditional pick. No link guys, but it was just on the breaking news ticker on NFLN. I really like the move. Could be a great #2 opposite Revis. He will have his chances to make plays.
it were for a 2010 pick, there would be mutiny right now. A 2011 conditional is why we love Tanny so much.. That trade makes the jets immediate winners.
Big reason for that is because the people that might care enough to actually evaluate the guy don't post much because the board is so inundated with random, stupid rumors.
I wasn't on board when speculation first started, but I changed my mind a while back. I think Cromartie is a perfect complement for Revis. QB's won't throw to Revis, and if they do they'll regret it. But if they don't, they'll be looking at Cromartie, who's got the speed and talent to break the game. Even if, God forbid, he runs sloppy routes and doesn't tackle- if we can pressure QBs and force them to make throws they don't want to make, this group could be crazy next year. Our biggest problem w/ the secondary last year was that Sheppard was too slow and we couldn't pass rush consistently, outside the blitz. I think we've solved half the problem.
