this was exactly my gripe with that Idzik draft of 14 picks, one or two of whom did t make the team if I recall. With that many picks, he should have traded some ... either to move up for a guy or to push picks into the next year. that draft was horrendous not only for the players he picked, but equally as bad as to how he managed the draft as a whole
Wont those good players who get released just demand the same level contract on the open market? I understand good players being let go & us having space.Where i get lost is those players are still gonna have expensive price tags that we arent in a position to entertain bc we need so many bodies
Got this feeling about the Pats game - they could pull it out . If they do, the Jags will run the course and get the #1 which is actually fine by me as long as Gase is out of the picture it really doesn't matter who the QB is in 2021.
If they actually do get released and the cap is lowered and only a few teams have cap space what type of money are they gonna get? Look for some good players to get dealt for 5th round picks
Maybe you need to improve your comprehension skills more than I do. So we're down to insults? Here is what I said: "If you mean by, he coached miserably enough to screw this team, yes it's partly on him. But it was JD that helped make his bed by all the player/draft moves. I can't help but think that they both agree that it's a mutual flop. There have been few if any improvements this year in any position except Q and Becton." Here is what you said: "Seriously? Gase or any competent HC should have been able to win 3-5 games with this team, or at least been competitive. Your blaming Douglas is ridiculous!!!" ^That statement that you made makes it sound like I'm blaming Douglas ENTIRELY on this whole situation. Yes I blame JD ALONG with Gase. Do you comprehend this? It takes 2 to tango, dude. And if you think I'm the only person thinking this, I guess there are many here that are in that 'ridiculous' club. All your narrations and theories are no better than mine. You sound like you have the solutions. Fine, but I don't need your English comp advice.
Absolutely worth keeping him and no reason at all to go anywhere near 25-35 million. He should get a new contract after the season with a very low base loaded with performance incentives. Play for pay, but you need to give him a chance to see what he can do in another system. The sooner the Jets get in that new system the better, but the words of Joe Douglas today are discouraging if they represent the true feeling in Florham Park.
the thing with all these kids coming out of college is they all have talent. its a matter of can they handle the speed of the game, are they willing to put the endless hours of prep work and film study to really understand their opponent every week. and do they have an offensive coordinator that is capable of making them understand all of it.
