First of all, a QB draw IS a planned run. Secondly, the read/option was effective against the Pats in that first game and most of Tebow's yardage did come from "planned runs".

And by "legend" you mean "rumor."

They were on the same team, working for the same goal. Now they're not. I guarantee you each of them would be "licking their chops" at the prospect of getting the best of the other no matter how close they were at UF.

I smell play action coming with Tebow in the backfield, at least once, and maybe on the first play he's back there.

Good. He should be on the field with Sanchez more. He can run, block and throw. We can audible and put him in at QB to throw teams off. It won't work if he's running in and out all the time.

Rex said it. At least that is what NFL radio said at around 1:30PM today.

I heard the same thing. Although, it was presented to Rex as a question, and he just went with it. I personally hope this is just Rex being Rex, and not a serious thing.

Although, if Greene goes down, I suppose there is not much choice. Hopefully this Grimes kid is good.

Don't get too excited. A reporter said Tebow hasn't practiced RB all week.

Haha..all that article says is how they haven't practiced it and he doesn't plan for it to happen yet that gets turned into "Jets to use Tebow at RB on Sunday". It's really amazing.

""I don't know," Tebow said. "It's not something that's been talked (about) or planned or worked on at all, so probably not.""

But why confuse the facts with the story, right?

It would be fun to see him in pass protection.

Cimini's an idiot. Rex Ryan said in an interview today that he MIGHT use him. He MIGHT be giving the Pats something to waste their time preparing for. It'll probably Grimes backing up Greene, I really can't see Tebow at RB all that much, but I'm sure he'll be there. I love Tebow as a decoy.

the best thing that coud happen would be for tebow to go 15 carries 100 yards in a trditional rb position. monday the sign o'connell and move tebow to rb full time and effectively kill the "when will tebow start at qb?" shit thats been hanging around since march

If you think the running game is gonna win this game for us you have not watched a single Patriots game this season. They have a remarkable good run D and a close to league worst secondary. We will win this passing down the field, or not win at all.

If I thought Tebow could avoid fumbling I'd be fine with this strategy.

Like I said before, Tebow will simply see his 4 or 5 designed plays (4 of which will be direct snap up the middle runs into the teeth of the defense for 4 yards . ) even if the score is 10-0 Pats at half time, even if one drive can win the game.

That is all we will see of Tebow (oh and possible fake punt).

Not sure of your source but here's what the Gainesville Sun wrote. "When they were high school recruits four years ago, Tebow and Spikes became friends on the recruiting trail and decided they wanted to go to the same college."

It should also be noted that they both decided to forgo the NFL draft after their junior year for one more shot at the national championship.

Yes, but not as a running back. Different situation altogether.

Rex is NOT going to put a QB, who has never played RB, in as a true RB. He may line him up back there, but let's be realistic.

The Jets usually give Tebow an option. It's his choice to keep it up the middle or hand it off. I can only remember once excluding fake punts, where it was jut Tebow catching the snap and running forward without motion. And what's wrong with 4 yards?
