benhamean is a patriots troll, and not very intelligent to boot. I'd pay zero attention to his posts.
you ever watch SNY? You see what LT said during pregame warm ups? LT isn't in San Diego anymore. He didn't walk into the Jets locker room, and say "Hey guys this is my team, because im LT." Look what Bart Scott thinks of him skip to 3:09 yeah this guy is no leader.
As soon as many of you get your wish, and the offense moves more toward Shonn Greene and more away from Tomlinson, you will see Tomlinson's true colors. He showed them in SD when Rivers was going apeshit and their offense was amazing. He didn't get his, and despite many wins he moped, bitched, and pouted.
If he gets his ring with the Jets and passes Martin, $5 says he goes into the Hall with the Jets uni on instead of SD...
So you mean he acted like Tom Brady whenever the refs wouldn't throw a rougher the passer flag when someone breathed on him?
I've never seen Brady pitching a bitch fit and yelling at his own team.
I suspect that how Schottenheimer apportions the carries has more to do with it in Tomlinson's case. And you guys know exactly what I'm referring to- all the things that you delighted at when Tomlinson was on SD and losing to the Jets in the playoffs: dissing his quarterback, moping on the sidelines, showing no heart, and weeping. It was a riot, remember? If his carries drop too much, that LT is not far away.
yes, of course the goal is to make it to the super bowl. what i meant by 16 games is that shonn greene should be the guy for the entire season. not being saved on the bench for the first 10 games of the season. why wouldn't a 3rd year back be able to play through a season and then still be good to go in the playoffs? it's not about percentages because it doesn't work out cleanly like that. what if greene needs to develop chemistry with the line, with sanchez? there was that botched handoff between the two. then can you really consider him to be 100%? at this point in his career, he should be fully capable of carrying the workload of regular season + playoffs.
Actually, I don't remember many Jets fans 'delighting' in that kind of thing. We did enjoy making fun of Cromartie, and also Chargers fans. I do remember many douchebag Patriots fans using LT as some sort of gloating device many years back, when New England was able to advance past their first playoff game.
The difference is, LT knows what point he's at in his career now. When he was traded to the Jets, he said he was willing to accept a smaller role. I'm sure he knows what lies in store for him this year.
I agree with this if Greene steps up his pass protection and catching. As easy as it is to just say Schotty has no clue and didn't use Greene enough it makes sense why LT got more of the snaps. He can do all of the RB's responsibilities at a high level. I would agree that as a pure runner Greene is the way to go but when you take into account keeping Sanchez protected and overall offensive flexibility LT brought a lot more to the table than Greene did last year. Greene made a big leap forward in both catching and blocking last year and if he can continue to improve I think you see a lot more of him this coming year. If he doesn't be prepared to be screaming for Greene again.
That may be true, but did Schotty get the memo about that or will we see another year and another late season fade because of overuse. I just don't see how this helps SG or JMac as Greene is in his 3rd season and we still don't know if he can be the featured back or not.
