Seems pretty undheard of for a team to do that. Kind of saying, sorry how things worked out TJ, but good luck and thanks.
I'm sure there is genuine respect for TJ from all sides. But after you have a season like we had, the last thing (as a player) I would have expected is TJ not getting some kind of deal done, but lets not go there, yet again. Mu hunch is that there were murmurings from within, and this has been done out to appease those feelings. Just a hunch, nothing concrete. When was the last time a player had this kind of 'apology/thankyou' published? It could have been done behind closed doors, but no We're going to go public with this and show how grateful we are. Sorry, smells of BS.
I keep asking this of the people who claim it's a move to sell PSLs, but haven't had an answer yet. Would signing a player, any player, a year before a potential lockout make any difference to your decision as to whether or not you'd spend $4K+ on a PSL?
Full color add?? What a waste of money- j/k Very classy move, somehow I doubt Kerry is getting one. They'll probably put an add in the Zona papers that the Jets would like to warn the Zona fans on what is coming and please keep expectations low. Also any agents in the area a new client has arrived start booking "Hollywood" some print ads.
Did they run a "And Stay Out!" ad in the Mississippi paper when Favre "retired"? I would have. Oh yeah, they don't read papers in Mississippi. EDIT: A joke, I have freinds in Mississippi and they read a little.
Nice gesture to a guy who a good player for us... maybe next year we can take full page ads in all the newspapers where the HOF voters live and remind them Klecko for the HOF!!!
