I think Cromartie is probably on the lower side of the list of main players the Jets have to sign. However, you have to keep him around just in case we cannot reach contract terms with Holmes/Edwards and if we can't get a long term deal with Harris worked out. In this scenario, we would have plenty of money left and can use it to sign guys like Cromartie and Brad Smith.

I'm sure the Jets are considering every possible option right now and Tanny is probably ripping his hair out like he was during Hard Knocks. There's no need to cut a player that isn't under contract. You never know what will happen with our other FAs and what priority Cromartie is on Tanny's list.

I think it's clear that the Jets will bring him back if they can afford him. Why make the relationship worse by cutting him? Have to keep every option open.

I don't really disagree with anything you said here other than the bolded part. What do you base that opinion on? Ftr I am not saying I think Cro is their most important target. Not at all. But I would put him no lower than third, (Harris already being tied up), after Edwards and Holmes.

I was initially addressing the one where you said something about Tanny's statements only now (meaning recently) making sense when he referred to not making major changes to the roster. I said they have always made sense. Because they have.

And again I would hardly say I believe the FO is infallible. In addition to the VG situation I am skeptical of last year's draft picks. That's not the point. I was referring to posters here who have said more or less that Cromartie is gone. That imo has been based on nothing.

Incoherent? Hehe. That's precious. Is your idea of coherence 12 paragraphs filled with empty points and scatter-brained meanderings, almost resembling a rational argument, but not really?
