I hope we sign him hes a good solid player. And at the same time i still would like to draft Cutler to sit behind him. Carson Palmer sat behind Kitna his rookie year and hes great now. Maybe he could do the same for Cutler. At this point it would be nice to keep Chad but I dont see how he fits in.

 that's true. and he did only have 1 good year...so maybe he's not the best guy ever for the job...but would he due for our backup? of course:wink:

what the hell has Kitna ever done? He had one good season and still his team didn't make the playoffs.

He did good last year in the post season against the steelers. So that one year he was good wasnt a fluke.

read my other post for your answer...

we shouldn't sign some major QB is what i'm saying....penny is our starter...we need a backup..and kitna is a backup type QB who has potential for starting...he just seems to fit the job perfectly

No thanks! We should draft a QB (Young if we can) and let him be the backup. As for us signing Peyton manning NO THANKS he chokes in the playoffs every year.

how many picks did he have?...yeah exactly:)

he wasn't that great in the playoffs...only the 1 year...so he shouldnt be too expensive...and he's a team player

so you're saying that even if we could have peyton manning (no matter what the price..even if he was cheap)..you wouldn't want him?....

and Young isn't a bad choice I'll admit....but it's not a good one either....he and cutler seem to be flukes imo

if he was real cheap then yes I would take him. you judge QB what they do in the big games! do I need to say more about Manning?
Young going to be a great QB in the NFL he has the full package. He will be the next Vick, but better because he a better pure passer then Vick. Even if we had the #1 overall pick I would still take Young over Bush.

Kitna makes a decent interim starter or backup, providing the price is right. It certainly is better idea than Patrick Ramsey.

I agree. Kitna was a solid player when he was at Seattle and Cincy.

We can't go wrong with signing a Veteran QB.

bush has a lot greater chance for stardom than young...young is mainly a runner who's just KINDA good at passing...you need to be a GREAT passer to be drafted #1...

bush deserves #1...he can sprint yes

    Kitna

won't sign with a team that doesn't have an Oline.

Jon Kitna could sign with the Jets shortly after midnight Monday.
This would seem to hinge on Chad Pennington, although Kitna looks very unlikely to be back with Cincinnati. Mar. 5 - 9:57 am et

I would easily take Kitna over Ramsey or Fiedler. However, when training camp rolls around, I will be cheering for Pennington to win the job. If he is physically unable, then I will have no problem with Kitna as our QB. I also think the signing would end any thoughts of Cutler at #4.

    Here's what we should do:

    -Sign Jon Kitna
-Have Kitna & Pennington compete for the starting job
-Brooks Bollinger as our 3rd QB
-Draft Brady Quinn, or another good QB first round next year
-Have Kitna mentor that QB, while starting for the jets in the 2006 & 2007 seasons
-Jets cut Pennington after this season

I guess all them passing yards where because he not a good passer? The problem I have with Bush is that he may not be able to carry the ball 25+ times a game and if that's true he not worth a #1 pick.

kitna was a big reason for palmer success he is good for bridging the gap till your young qb is ready.

I guess Palmer talent has nothing to do with it?
