Please put me on ignore. I will do the same. I will not argue with someone that has no grasp of the English language and is nothing more than some 90 y/o dolt!
You should know better than anyone that even by your terminology, An "average" player and our 1st for a backup and a 1st, who are you aiming for there anyway?? Drafting another LB isn't fixing anything, and drafting a NT there reminds me too much of the Drob aka "the Next Warren Sapp" so now we are stuck being forced to start a backup at RB, have to get someone better than JV at the new hole at LB which ain't going to happen, and pray (which the football gods have never been kind to the Jets since 1969) that whoever we get makes this worth it. So we have no idea if this type of deal has any chance to improve us at all. I agree that JV is not untradeable, but it has to be a sure thing not a gamble
From a media standpoint this team is ahead of schedule as rebuilding projects go, we will be bargaining from a position of power in any trades. Based on last years off season I have alot of confidence in the front office decision-making. IMO, Vilma isn't going anywhere. The Jets will likely address RB in the draft. It is one of the immediate impact positions in football and lots of hidden gems to be found.
I NOT aiming for anyone if the CS/FO thinks that the trade will improve us then I am for it! ANYTHING that gets us another WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. All I am saying since we now agree that JV is not superman & will never be superman then it becomes really easy to replace a average player in this case JV with another average player
I think that is way way too much gambling and conjecture and not enough certainty at this point to even be a consideration. I do not like this deal. It is way too early to speculate about deals of this nature. A lot of the draft day trades hinge on the board, teams needs and desperation etc. To make this trade now....................bleh nice discussing with you. I have to leave on a 3 day fishing trip and get my my ass kicked by the weather ...........
LOL just look up the word dolt now? After you quoted me already......................... I should have just used idiot or fool. BTW get the last word in you are now on ignore. You offer nothing in the way of Football knowledge nor comedy. So your value to me is absolute zero as far as New York Jets football forums or any forums go!
That's the problem who said the CS was for it, this is just an internet rumor, there are 1,000s more like this that is brought up everyday that isn't worth a grain of salt. No it isn't easy to replace JV whether you think he is average or not, for 1 there aren't many people available period, secondly they will cost a ton more than we pay Vilma right now and 3rd, if it was so easy to find "average" players we wouldn't have a dline that was vastly below average.
Kerry Rhodes, and yes I know safeties are realitively cheap but great safeties are hard to find. Edit: idiot me, I somehow read Mangold and Rohodes as Mangold and Brick. Apologies.
I would add Lav Coles just because of his toughness and desire he puts into every game. I don't think you can replace that. Plus, he's a pretty damn good receiver too.
U think I am unaware that this is just a "net rumor"? What does DLman have to do with JV who last I looked played MLB? We probably have on the team now players who can play MLB just as well as JV which would them make it quite easy to replace JV. In fact being 2nd or 3rd stringers they probably also will cost less then JV now cost us & will cost after next season when we have to decide to reup him or not.
Coles had the kiss of death last year, multiple concussions. I would be shocked if he ever performs to last years level again. We need to start looking to replace him now.
Plus, we could be getting a starting RB for him now instead of him leaving in 2 years and getting nothing in return. Especially if he is not happy playing in the 3-4
Ah the look ahead theroy vs the stick the head in the ground theroy. I will always take the look ahead since the stick the head in ground theroy takes you backwards always
At 6'6" and 320 he probably could not handle the nose. Might be able to, but the mass to height ratio would be really iffy. If he bulks up 15 pounds instead he could well be a young Ted Washington in the making. Of course if he's looking at the top 10 right now he does not see a lot of 3-4 teams there. Just Cleveland at #3 and maybe San Francisco at #11 looking to trade up a bit. Pittsburgh is at #15, however they have Casey Hampton who is one of the top NT's in the business right now. So there's no real incentive for him to go that route.
Who??? because if they were any good they would have been playing right next to him every game, as for the DLman part of my argument, you said it was easy to find average players, well our DL had below average players, why if it was so easy?
We are talking about a backup player here, you think a backup can take us to a championship? what are you smoking?
