and won defensive rookie of the year in his 1st year and make the pro bowl his 2nd year. its just so hard to see why anyone would like a player like that. i mean betts ran for a whooping 2400 yards in 5 seasons. thats a rising star.
GM and hydro youre missing the point...regardless of whether or not he lead the team in tackles(which I might add were all after 13 yard gains), he doesnt fit the sytem. you dont change the system to fit the player, yo change the players. Hes a nice player, thats it guys. That is is why the Vilma love is hard to swallow
If it were Portis and not Betts I'd do it. I want to see Betts perform like this for more than one season, one year wonders at RB are a dime a dozen in today's NFL.

Who plays MLB then? MLB is responsible for calling the audibles, and Vilma does that fine as his D's have been in the playoffs for 2 of his 3 years. Quite an underrated duty.

Cause most fans I have seen in this forum HIGHLY & I mean HIGHLY over rate our sides player. To them every one of our players is a superstar with a big S even though we have won NOTHING since 01/12/69. Shucks that is only a few short days ago. Betts is an every-down back, gets positive yardage on every carry, damned durable, good hands. I would rather start him in our backfield next season than take chances on a rookie or some other FA RB that hasn't been a proven 30-carries a game guy. Portis is another injury waiting to happen, and perhaps a malcontent? There's no question which I would rather have. But I still don't think this sweetheart deal will really happen. Dumber trades have been made, but I don't see it.
