He's quick, strong, good hands. We needed a solid slot guy and we got just that. No complaints here. This team got better offensively today
Yea so that Crowder deal doesn't look too bad... I was thinking Funchess would get one year, $7 mil at most somewhere.
Wouldn't mind Golden Tate but he's going to want more than 2 years. He's 30. Tough call. But prior to last seasons 74 catches he had 4 straight years of 90+ Tate/Enunwa/Anderson/Crowder + TE Herndon would be a very good receiving corps
NY Post says 3yrs/$28 which is not less than Adam H so I view this deal as shit worthy of most shitty transactions the NYJ make. Of course many will dismiss Crowder under-achievement last 3 years and somehow, given all evidence to the contrary, conclude that the NYJ have a special touch that will allow him to thrive and its the NYJ organization keen insight and understanding that leads them to conclude that Crowder is the better of the two. I will agree with them in one way--if they signed Humphries, they would screw him over somehow. He goes to BB, he's Wes Welker the 3rd.
This is awesome but we still need more playmakers on offense. Sign Paradis and get Bell and then we can start getting serious about things. EDIT: What the hell am I talking about I actually never heard of this guy Crowder, but I am taking some optimism from some of the other posters here and hoping they are right.
shit I mean with this mindset why sign anyone at all? Crowder got more because Crowder was more productive
Were you one of the chorus who wanted to cut Jason Meyers after pre-season week 4 when Folk became available? Or one of the cheerleaders of the Darron Lee, or Hack pick? Were you arguing to sign Mo Wilk longterm and talking up the Tru Johnson pickup?
As rookies Crowder was more productive but last year Humphries strarted to break out and Crowder merely disappointed again. I agree that in most fantasy leagues Crowder was taken before Humphries--probably not this year
Please dont use fantasy draft position for this lol Anyways, the Bucs are a pass heavy offense and rarely run the football. Crowder has had more 100 yard games, much more productive on all FOUR downs.
I follow Dan Orlovsky on Twitter & really respect the guy's opinions... he's in love with the signing of Crowder, which gets me pumped! He's got a great video breaking him down & what he brings to the table for Sam.
Crowder has shown a ton of good things throughout his career. He's still well within his prime (25) his best years could be ahead of him. Darnold needed a 60-70 catch slot security blanket and he got one. And as the Orlovsky video shows Crowder is cerebral, he can create space. Our receivers got no separation last year. This shows the Jets are getting it. They're giving their young QB the tools he needs. On the O-line, in the receiving corps. And I like Humphries too but perhaps the Jets just thought for our team, for our O, for our QB Crowder was a better fit. As a pure athlete I do like him better than Humphries, though that doesn't always make for a better football player.
I like this move. Crowder is underrated. A small swift shifting slot guy who can cause a lot of problems for opposing defenses.
