Something tells me Adam Gase had a lot to do with this signing. He has a history of excellent production with pass catching backs. He has yet to have a guy with this caliber of talent. This is going to be really fun to watch!
Steelers low balled him in the guarantee money, something like 17 mil over 5 years. We gave him 35 mil over 4 years
Just woke to this news myself (UK time). This is fabulous and is a great deal. Our team has improved massively with these FA signings. Let’s keep it up Mac.
Not sure where the Jets are now with cap space left but signing of Bell def means Jets will not take in Crowell by March 15th so will be charged with $2M dead money. Beachum however if released give the Jets $8M savings if they go that route but doubt that they’ll release him. Winters is probably the next to go and give the Jets $6M savings.
There is a good chance Boss falls to us. Cards have Suggs & Jones to rush the passer & San Francisco may trade back with Giants
I knew it ... no way Maccagnan was gonna let Maccagnan outbid him ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
They've got a Hall of Fame QB and a good offensive line. They are going to score points and win games.
Yep. I’m banking on the idiot Jets. Surely they’ll give us a king’s ransom to move up to three. MWAHAHAHAHAAAAA!! Oh wait. WE’RE the Jets. Fuck, i forgot.
probably already been said a dozen times but just in case..I'll believe he signs with us for the terms we have seen when I see it..would not be surprised if at least a couple of teams don't offer him more today.
I wonder if teams were sending a message that "you honor your contract and don't sit out all year". Of course there are are always teams like the Jets that desperately need a playmaker and pounced at the right time. When the i's are dotted at 4 pm today I'll be ecstactic.
When they double JuJu, who are they throwing to? Ben already IMO is in a decline, has good numbers based off a stupid number of passing attempts.
Hard to turn this into a negative against Mac. He stuck to his guns, gave a deadline, and signed him to a good contract well short of what many thought Bell would receive.
I know I'm in the minority but I'm not happy about this at all. A-hole shenanigans to follow. Not sure how long it's going to take, maybe about a week in? I'll never understand how people get excited over a guy who acted like a POS and somehow think he won't act like a POS somewhere else.
When they start winning, and that is a big if, things should go smoothly including Ball. But when things go haywire, I m sure he ll vent.
Did we sign Bell yet or are we "signing" Bell after the NFL has 24 hours to evaluate the deal and make counter-offers?
