Within an instant and Le'Veon Bell is officially our best overall football player. Over night. I love the makings of Darnold. We all do and Jamal Adams is really developing into a cornerstone defensive leader. Both on and off the field. We're building a team here. Around a franchise hopeful and kid QB in Darnold. Jamal Adams embraced Darnold and celebrated on draft night. That same Jamal Adams just helped recruit our now best player in Le'Veon Bell like a dog in order to show Bell he's wanted and desired by our franchise. It worked. Sam Darnold & Jamal Adams already being here and now Le'Veon it's truly a page turned for a suffering fan base. We're now an attraction. I remember our Pennington and Martin days. That era of my Jets football although frustrating was truly the last era I had some type of enjoyment with my offenses. Loved my receivers in Keyshawm, Coles Chrebet and Santana, built tough O-Line etc but most importantly I knew I had an extremely intelligent QB with accuracy although limited and a hungry RB in Martin who protected Chad and played to dominate and became a legend. I can't wait for this duo of Darnold and Le'Veon. Could be fun if not magical. I'm hyped. Darnold is super young. But he's also intelligent and crazy talented. Now paired with Le'Veon. Bell is going to protect our kid investment as a top notch offensive work horse. Le'Veon is a man amongst men on that field. And his statistics and on field especially playoff resume goes to show. Still only 26-27. Man. N.Y is going to rejuvenate this young man and he'll explode on Sundays. And make it easier on our WR's due to attention demanded too. Le'Veon will improve Darnold's play action. Giving Darnold a true 3 down threat. Focus too much on Bell destroying a defense and you'll have Robby Anderson looking to kill you deep one on one hopefully or Quincy making plays over the middle. Darnold and Bell. Next 3-5 years will be sick.
The Steelers are good at finding skill players in the draft, so if they are cheap with their homegrown stars, it doesn't affect them that much.
You May Have Forgotten How Good Le’Veon Bell Is https://www.theringer.com/nfl/2019/3/13/18264376/leveon-bell-jets-new-york-sam-darnold-offense
Geezuz fucking Christ no one cares about your favorite Jet era. THIS is why you were banned, multiple times, under multiple usernames, not because you make great threads. Honestly WTF.
Well with that schizo coward Barr going back to Minny I think the Jets are back to taking either Bosa or Allen with the 3rd pick. I wish there was a stud WR available.
@Acad23 is right. This dude is going to annoy more TGG members than anyone else. Just like last year.
You don't think the lawyers already had a copy of the contract? It just can't be signed and sent to the league office until four, no way are they just giving the contract outline that we hear reported. Besides most of the contract is boiler plate
Still want another dependable receiver in the mix. Adding Golden Tate (even at his age, the guy flat out produces) to an offense of Darnold-Bell-Herndon-Anderson-Enunwa-Crowder...we're not Cleveland Browns (feels weird saying that) or Chiefs level but that would make for a very productive, functional offense. Gives Darnold a nice array of weapons
The stud edge rusher in FA is gone, but there are quality players in Houston and Barrett. If nothing else, it upgrades our depth and provides some security so we aren't forced to take Bosa or Allen instead of taking a great trade down offer. Houston doesn't have to give us 16 games. He can help mentor Jenkins, Barrett and Burns if we draft him or even Allen or Bosa. I disagree that we have to take one of Allen or Bosa. I think Burns is a stud edge rushing prospect as well, and in some ways he's more advanced than Allen. He may not be as good as Allen in setting the edge or dropping to coverage, but he actually has more pass rushing moves and may be a better pass rusher. We could trade down, garner extra picks which insure us of getting a quality C prospect, an OT prospect or one of the better WR or CB prospects and still have a great young edge rushing prospect that can learn from Houston and Barrett. If we only get one corner in FA, we'll be drafting at least one CB. We need a #2 CB and a slot CB, and I doubt that they're just gonna hand the slot CB position to Nickerson. I think we need to sign one FA for each of those two CB positions so we're free to focus on WR, OL, depth, and maybe a TE in the lower rounds of the draft. I agree that we should be much better but are still a year away, maybe two.
