It was reported on one of today's podcasts that Bell and the Jets agreed to terms at 4pm yesterday then kept it quiet until midnight for his record release. I have to give both sides major props for being able to keep this deal secret.

    Good post.

Pittsburgh wanted their cake and to eat it too. They were never gonna give Bell a long term deal, they just wanted to give him short term deals until he was all busted up and then get rid of him. He decided to not give them that opportunity.

Bell now has his guaranteed money, a better city and an up&coming team instead of one that is aging and fading

It’s absolutely a win for Bell and a loss for Pittsburgh. The question is — is it a win for the Jets??!! I certainly hope so. We will see though

Wait. Did he actually announce it on the mixtape? Or did the news just break at 12:30AM?

The news broke around 12:15 AM but there is no doubt in my mind that the deal was agreed upon and the Jets let him have his moment so it would send people to his mixtape thinking the announcement was going to be there.

Finally the Jets are addressing all phases of the team. Not these defenses only signings. We upgrade a weakness with Mosley and got the top back in free agency. Screw Anthony Barr let him stay with those chokers.

Stacking the box is all we need to get man coverage single high safety .Sam will thrive against man coverage and our guys can win those matchups.

Robby or Crowder in man coverage is exactly what you want. Then once teams figure out you can’t do that, they aren’t stacking the box anymore. All of the pieces really fit perfectly, I just wish we had that top-tier receiver that can make plays on every down.

I’m ok with our wr’s . Still have faith Q can be that guy you want but like you said they all compliment each other very well. Herndon Q and Robbie should put a lot of pressure on the center field safety

Ever since Football Night in America started, Florio has been a Patriots mouthpiece, so it stands to reason that he'd be annoyed by this deal.

Almost sounds like he's daring Le'veon and his agent to hold out for more.

I've come to terms with this deal, it's good for both sides and not what I expected, which was a ridiculous contract. While I'm not a huge fan of Le'veon the person, I do really love the way he plays and hope he's able to get back to form.

Assuming he actually signs, which is no guarantee at 4pm today.

Now let's hope Mac pulls off a big draft, unlike in the past.

I’ve heard multiple times over the last few months the that AJ Green could be available. I wouldn’t mind picking up the phone and offering a 3rd for him and see what happens.

I know, that was the point of my post, he has now got 36m in his bank, do you think he is fucking worried about what may have been? I repeat 36m guaranteed, how he must cry himself to sleep on a night worrying about that lost 14m ;)

    The Steelers deal was $33 the first 2 , $45 over 3.
Still don't know the structure but he lost out. He will not make up the money he lost in his hold out no matter how you spin it.

He can't sign until after 4 pm. No free agents have signed any where.

i just felt it. The homer in me. Hometown kid. Grew up a Jets fan. Grew up watching #28 Curtis Martin and imo runs like him playing style wise! All the cap space we had. Him holding out for Pittsburgh. Just drafted a franchise QB in Darnold. Need to surround Sam with WEAPONS etc, etc and it just felt many of months ago as if the stars could be aligning!
