I "manned up" on the battlefields of Vietnam as an infantryman and combat advisor to the South Vietnamese and I did this in 1969, at the height of all US battlefield casualties. I hold the Bronze Star, Combat Infantryman's Badge and was Airborne qualified. So please inform all of us how you yourself have gone about the task of "manning up." I'd particularly like you to explain in detail, to all interested parties, your qualifications for telling me what I should and shouldn't do. Otherwise, STFU.
No, I don't mean "full of fucking idiots" . . . what I DO mean is a website where a great number of people come to talk about the Jets and discuss the latest news and current status of the team. Whether or not some of these people are "fucking idiots" (Unfortunately, some of them undoubtedly are) is rather irrelevant. What IS relevant is that it's certainly plausible that MANY intelligent people happened to come across the The Onion article thread ,and without giving it a close look, assumed that the thread was reporting factual information. It's not a big deal. (I wasn't on this site that day and by the time I checked out the thread, the last post had already revealed the fact that the article was a joke - So, I'm not saying that I was fooled or was personally agitated by it. In fact, I thought it was funny) My only point was that you were making fun of the rule that prohibits posting fake news on the site and I think it's rather obvious why that rule would be in place . . . And if you can't see why then you are the one who may be 'functionally retarded'. (btw, that term seems redundant to me)

I fully admire your service and dedication to our country. You're a true hero, and I mean that sincerely. With that said, I'm failing to understand how a guy who's probably seen bullets whiz by his head could possibly be so distraught by an article on The Onion. I've served my country in various ways, but my societal contributions are easily dwarfed by your impeccable accomplishments. That in mind, I stand by my opinion that there's no reason to get so worked up about something so trivial.
DWare, by the way, that was a really awesome contribution to the thread. Your wit and cunning are simply superlative. It would have taken me at least half an hour to come up with the idea of finding an "owned" JPEG on Google. Congratulations. We are not worthy.
