Law has had that me first attitude in the past but at this stage in his career where he barely even was gonna play this year i hope he's here to play and help us win and not to be a selfish douche. I Think the fact that Revis is here and there good friends Law will be different this time around... As for Law wearing #24 i guess revis did it out of respect since law is his great friend and mentor.
No, I don't believe Revis will change his #. That has to be a misprint.... Revis is wearing #24 because of Law so why would he say #22? Cause it's a mistake by the writer or a misprint.
This is a good signing, Revis has him as not only a friend but also a mentor, this can only be good for Lowery too, who up to this point has achieved far more than I would have ever thought, so far. What he will bring in terms of knowledge will be invaluable and I see this more of a CS role than player.
Hopefully he can stay away from the penalties this time. If he can and if we can still stop the run he could be huge in NE and Tennessee. With Cassell and Collins throwing all those short passes Law could be a huge difference maker against Welker and Scaife or Jones. I am sure that is why they got him.
At this point in his career the big question turns to whether Ty Law will still refer to himself as "Ty Law."
I like the idea of them using Law as a safety as well. We've seen the transition from CB to S be successful in the past with other players.
Great signing, I am tired of watching teams abuse Lowery. Hopefully this will help out him and Revis. Is he really ready to play Thursday night though?
We are trying to win a superbowl not rebuild. Man, you guys complain about every move. How does a veteran who knows Mangini's schemes hurt us at all?
Hes a ball hawk....a turnover guy. I totally agree. I cant see how anyone would not like this. Cap? Its a one year contract...if we signed him for $15 million to play out the year...who cares about the cap? We had the room and at the end of the year he comes off the cap. Attitude? This is a different team then the one Mr Law played for on his first go round. Ty will be the perfect teamate and you wont hear squat out of his mouth. The new leaders wouldnt tolerate that and he knows it. When a guys career is near its end...they learn to shut the hell up pretty fast. Ty Law will get big turnovers because thats what he does. Its a no brainer.
Jets are thin in the secondary, and E Smith is hurt. Coleman sucks. In short, I think this is a good move.
The only reason to not like it is that he has been a walking/talking penalty just about every time he steps on the field. If he can keep that down he will be a good pickup. If he can't we are in trouble.
This is an excellent short-term move. Its so critical for us to win the PATS game. All of their RBs are hurt. If we can stop their passing game, our chances to win improve dramatically. We will probably spend more time in a nickel package than in a regular 3-4 & therefore the Law signing makes sense.
Thats a good point. It wouldnt suprise me..and I could be really wrong..but it wouldnt surprise me if they designate him the Wes Welker guy. Now they might do something different but that has to be the Jets gameplan to take that little bastard out of the game..or just control him. The defense has shown a weakness for the middle of the field...and this guy lives there. The only way that this can be a totally frustrating night is if that little bastard runs free all night there. Him running free takes away the pass rush because of the quick 3 step drop...and quite honestly?, if Im the Jets...thats the only gameplanning Im doing this week...because nothing else the Pats will throw out you scares you.
Agreed. Jets are short handed in the secondary and Law knows what Mangini wants in his DB. My only question is whether the guy is in shape or not. If so, it's a great signing.
