Ivory is our lead back but you need 3 guys in a rotation. Believe me Ivory doesn't want to be out there all alone. He has no problem sharing carries with the other Rbs. Ridley split the job with the other NEP backs and was productive. If healthy he should make the team. If we draft a Rb he'll have to beat out Ridley.

Not a bad move,I would have rather us drafted a guy in round 3 or 4 but I guess this is ok.Hopefully he can teach Geno how to cheat

If Ridley is Healthy, he could take the lead back job from Ivory...... Ivory isn't bad but I don't think his lead back status on this team is certain....

Dude was a chronic fumbler on a team where nobody fumbles.

I really hope this doesn't mean no RB consideration in draft.

If Macc thinks the team is "all set" at RB now, we are in trouble.

A chronic fumbles who has lost 6 fumbles in 672 touches? Even if you factor in he's fumbled 9 times in his NFL career, and a workhorse runningback gets 300 touches a year, it becomes 4.5 fumbles a year.

He's not the best ball carrier in the world in terms of fumbles but it's vastly overblown by Belichicks hate for them and instant benching over them.

This is a great addition to the team as he's a good solid runner with good vision and explosion in the hole. It takes away runningback as a need in the draft and gives us security for Ivory's violent running style as its going to lead to nagging injuries.

Anyone bashing this move is being very nitpicky.

indifferent to this move. on one hand, we get a solid back that can share carries with ivory and bilal. on the other hand its a very good running back class so we could've drafted a good one there. but whats done is done, welcome aboard ridley

Good depth signing. Ivory is still going to be the main horse, so theres's no reason for anyone to freak out over this deal. It's a 1 year deal.

IMO Ridley is certainly better than Powell, who has shown little with the jets. At least Ridley has rushed for over 1000 yards in a season.

I like what our front office is doing in free agency.

A decent draft could put us in good shape this year.

I think some people are overrating his fumbles... averages 2 fumbles a year and that's really because he had four in one year, twice. Not saying that's perfectly fine... but people calling him a "chronic fumbler" are misguided. his fumbles just got blown up bc he got benched for it and everyone knows Bill don't play that fumbling shit. he had four fumbles in 300 carries lmao... that's not fumble prone in my book. I just don't like the signing from a a schematical standpoint.. we need speed

Ridley: 9 fumbles in 650 attempts
Ivory: 8 fumbles in 636 attempts
    j. Charles: 24 fumbles in 1249 attempts.

    (saw this earlier)...

two of these guys never get called fumble prone and one is a "chronic fumbler"...

He just didn't get the benefit of running with deflated balls so his fumble numbers might be a bit overblown

Hopefully, it's just insurance in case they can't get a back they like in the draft and for TC competition.

I don't understand why people would bitch about this signing?

So far we have a GM that is willing to spend, is identifying with the fact that injuries do happen, so depth is very important. Very important.

Injuries has been our ultimate Achilles heal for this team the past several years, well, that and we just haven't had a very good roster filled with talent to begin with.

That seemingly is changing, so I am happy with the depth signing. If it doesn't work out, you cut him, nothing to sweat.

I never understood how people could bitch at one year, low money and no risk type deals.

It's not like Ridley was offered a long term deal with more money or something like that (and even then, how the contract is structured would be more important).

Ridley's fumbles are incredibly overrated because of the team he played for. Mistakes are not tolerated.

Very few RB's hit the hole as decisively or quickly as Ridley did for us. I've said for the past 4 years that Ridley has top 5 RB talent if he puts it together, his vision, balance, and first step quickness are off of the charts. What he needs is a little help from blocking and a chance. NE doesn't believe in the lead back role unless they have no choice (see 2012 where he gained 1200 yards).

If the Jets OL can runblock Ridley will be your best RB this year and if he stays healthy he'll make himself some money next year.

And outside of the player, if you've ever watched any of his interviews he seems like one of the best people in the NFL, his attitude towards everything seems amazing. Definitely one of my favorites in the league, I hate that he's Jet but wish him well 14 games of the season.

Good depth signing. Ridley and Ivory is a nice combo.
