He allowed 1 catch for 12 yards against the Vikes, and under 50 yards against the Patriots in the playoffs. The guy can play in this system. Great signing.
He was victimised in the playoffs, but he can play a role. Hopefully with a healthy, restructured Barrett and a more experienced Coleman in play that role is less vital than the one he played this past year.
I really, really like having this guy on the team. He's not an elite CB by anyone's standards. That being said, he's scrappy, a sure tackler and stays with his man pretty well. I can remember him breaking up a few pretty big passes last year. Someone mentioned NB- that's great, but I'd like to see if he can challenge for the #2 spot, assuming that we don't land that bigtime FA or draft pick. Poteat impressed me because he was a guy who recognized that this was probably his last bite of the apple, and he made the most of it.
I agree with that....and i do like having poteat on the team....he has a nice name with a ring to it  :steelers:
3-4 million a year will be a bargain, are you kidding? You do know the franchise tage price runs over 7 million, plus the teams will be bidding, Clements is going to get an asinine contract.....
there are 32 teams in the NFL, and i for one am not sure when the Jets will be SB champs again...however i would not go so far to say that they Jets wont win with Poteat on the roster, and i certainly didnt expect that from you GM... werent you the one trying to stress the importance of role players to Champ in another thread? so how do you figure? im confused where you stand...do you just hate champ that much or are you not sure about the value of Poteat...it seems like you are going back and forth
