More unusual than 'Santonio' or 'Jerricho'? We should start calling our receiving corps. the 'freakshow'.

So that's why we let Braylon and Brad go huh? Two dudes with normal names (semi-normal in Braylon's case)...Kerley better not get too comfortable in NY

Or Scottie McKnight. Or Patrick Turner. Hell, Keller, Mulligan and Cumberland might start getting nervous if Martellus Bennet, Alge Crumpler or Visanthe Schiancoe suddenly hit the FA market.

Nah, Plexico sounds like a type of Tennis court suface.

'Andre was a decent player on clay but no could touch him on Plexico'

We let Braylon go because he was seen holding hands with Kerry Rhodes.

@Keithnyj- Everyone wants him to do good. Between how stupid what he did was and being out for 2 years, he has a lot to prove. I hope he does great. I think we all would rather have braylon.

Feeling the same way. Though, it may be more realistic from a business standpoint.

Braylon gave us 2 good years, sad to see him leave but Plax will step up I'm sure. I'm not worried about him at all actually, I think he has a lot to prove

This guy was on the downside of his career before shooting himself. DO NOT LIKE! Would have much rather had Braylon back with a longer contract.

plaxico is a jet so let's support him.. I think he'll have just as many big catches as braylon. he's gonna be a big time player for us so let's show the guy some love.. welcome to the jets plax!!!

Has anyone even brought up the fact that he's NEVER been a 2nd WR? Hines Ward is the closest person he's played to that can command #1 type defensive coverage and even then, Plax was the #1. His workload is going to be nowhere near what it was for the Giants playing alongside Holmes.

I love it, the entire time we were in limbo with Aso I was worried about losing Braylon because of the TYPE of receiver he is and how he fits with Holmes/Sanchez. We brought in a guy that has a chance to be even more of "that" type of receiver. Again, I don't know how anyone can be upset with this signing given our other options. What did you want us to do, wait until Braylon realizes he can't get $8-9 mil out on the open market? I'm still convinced some bad team is going to give him that kind of money, and as much as I loved Braylon, it's not worth handicapping our cap for that.

This is a real swing for the fences. I'm not sure what to think about it. Hopefully he has been keeping himself in shape.

I'd like to think he will be a tremendous weapon for us in the red zone, but I thought the same about Braylon.. I don't think Shotty has any fade plays in the playbook where you just loft it up for your big receiver to go up and get it. Hopefully he learns that's allowed this year, because Plax is just as good as anyone at that.

I'm really torn about the Jets signing Burress. Right now we have no way of knowing what we'll get out of him compared to the other receivers that are still available, but the Jets have recently gotten pretty good production out of these short-term rental type of players with checkered behavior, Holmes and Braylon both worked out pretty well, and while I'm not a huge fan of Cromartie, he was definitely a huge upgrade over what we had before.

Hopefully this guy isn't on IR by week 8.
