Folk last 3 years from 50+
    5-9

Feely last 3 years from 50+
    4-4

Just saying.... I don't know what I'm saying, but I'm saying it...

Jeese over reacting a bit here. Feely isnt gone maybe they just wanted to sign a young kicker who has the potential to be great. I dont care who is kicking as long as 3 points go up.

He said you wont care who is kicking if they go in. Cinci and SD missed theirs fgs so they do care.

Feely was very consistent, and kickers are often the difference between a W and an L. I'd hate to see us lose his consistency in an uncapped year over money. If Folk can be just as consistent, then fine, but kickers are usually very mentally fragile and can lose there edge very quickly with a bad season.

Hopefully this is just an insurance policy in case Feely gets paid top 5 QB money to be a backup kicker in Oak. Otherwise I'm not on board with this at all.

    FAAAAAAACK!!!!

Unless Folks gains his form back and remains relatively consistent, of course. Feely was good but we never really tested him on 50+ yarders. He was 1/1 on 50+, which is good, but enough tries to make a case. We consistently gave up on 50-53 yard FG tries. Nick Folk is 5/9 on 50+ yarders in 3 years while Feely has attempted 5 in the last 3 years.

I don't like this at all. Hopefully it's just insurance in case they don't reach a deal with Feely. Folk was abysmal last year.

Folk was cut by the Cowboys. We can sign unlimited cuts with in the roster restrictions.

So are the NY media and fans. A kicker's #2 job qualification after the kicking part is to handle pressure. I hope he can be 2008's Nick Folk and not 2009's Nick Choke!

This still doesn't mean that Feely is a guaranteed goner. Can we even resign Feely until the new fiscal year?

Don't the Jets always bring in a TC kicker?

I just hope Ryan doesn't pull a Mangini and keep 4 kickers on the roster

No, one of the miss gave Manning a 57 yard field to work with instead of 75-80 yard field on a usual kickoff after the FG. He led the 57 yard TD drive and the Colts went ahead for good. Those two FGs were huge. Could have been 20-13 at half time and if Feely makes the 52 yarder, and Manning wasn't able to lead an 80 yard drive and come up with zero points, the score would have read 23-13 Jets. Huge momentum shifts.

Each play changes the outcome of the game so its a moot point what 'could' have happened. But the momentum shift would have been huge.

and then considering the Jets didn't score all 2nd half, Manning would have won the game anyway.

I will reserve judgement on this move till i see how Folk does in TC and/or OTAs.....Rex is one of the best motivators in the NFL.....if anybody can fix Folk's confidence, Rex sure as hell can.

Let's wait and see what happens....Feely needs some healthy competition (if he's resigned)...it'll make him a better player.
