Not really - its up to the CS to field the best roster available. Last thing the CS should be doing is listening to fans.

No, it's a business and I'm sure you have heard that a billion times and it's up to the CS, the ownership and everybody else involved with the team to field a product people are willing to pay to see. Without that there is no team. Sonny Werblin knew that, that was his background and that's why he was willing to pay Namath an unheard of 400k out of college. Eve Johnson knows that and that is why he brought both Ryan and Favre here when they had to sell PSLs.

Well what Woody Johnson does isn't always whats best for the fans and the team. Case and point - Tim Tebow. Winning is everything and the only way that happens is if the FO / CS fields the best roster possible. Everything the Jets have done this off-season has been w/out Woody Johnson. GM was hired due to Ron Wolf.

If we start winning, no one is going to care about having super famous football players on the squad. Fans will show up even w/out their input.

Add to that, Marshall stop talking when he was asked about it. Decker said it once and done. I still question as to why no one stepped in and stopped it. It was not a bang bang thing there was a loud argument going on. The whole story still is not done. One thing is for sure, the new management doesn't want or need this type of distraction. If Fitzy works out I can see Geno going by-by.

Case in point: buying the team.

Wait a min. a 6th round pick punches your starting quarterback, and the leader of the offense (Mangold) and th eleader of the defense (Revis) don't come out to defend Geno? You can say what you want, but it amazes me that they didn't defend their guy, and is pretty telling.

I'm sure you know how many thousands of new fans the Tebow signing brought and who knows how many tickets or paraphanalia they bought when they were here..again, that's the point. Johnson paid 635 million for the team and it is now valued at 1.8 billion and really that's the only point.

When have you ever heard Revis and Mangold single one person out? Never. I'm not disagreeing in regards to what you are saying about Geno and the lack of respect he has in the locker room. Geno ain't getting cut this year, that's all that matters to me.

And how much embarrassment did the fanbase go through that year alone?

The Jets should have CUT Geno after what went down. That was the move to make and send a message. However, that hasn't happened so Flynn will be the backup QB until Geno is back and than will be cut. I would have liked to see them just go this year with Fitz, Flynn and Petty and sent Geno Packing. The lack of respect he clearly has in that locker room for someone to punch him in the face as the starting qb of your team sums up this guys stint and probably career. Not to mention any true leader of a team would never be in that position to begin with.

Oh well Geno will stick probably one more year and will be released most likely after the year. He probably cost himself any chance of sticking with the Jets and possibly of having a decent NFL career.

I hope it was worth the $600 you moron.

I'm sorry anyone with an iota of balls would defend their QB, especially against one that cost him to miss a few weeks when it came from a cheap shot... UNLESS no one cared for him.

As long as neither is compared to Geno Smith that's a big plus

Several commentators have noticed the same regarding the lack of support for Smith in the locker room, and what it means. And not only can I say me, too on the bolded part, I certainly hope so. That would be great.

It's not hard to figure out, Smith has sucked for two years and caused Ryan his job and almost every player loved having Ryan as their coach. Why would they support him when I bet they would love to see him go too.
