Oh shit, thats exactly the number I wanted him at, Ive been projecting him to get a 1 year 4 mil deal with incentives. Awesome, I hope he pans out well. Welcome Laron!
And im happy about this move if for THAT reason only lol. Could just see Landry playing ALL 16 games for NE and knocking Holmes/Schillens/kerley/Edwards/Avery/Cothchery/Chrebet/any other receiver jets fans want to insert here..... into next week
The good news about this is this most likely takes Eric Smith out of the starting role and leaves us in a position to focus on signing or trading for a FS.
Id LOVE to see a backfield of Atogwe/Landry.... Then again im sure Skins' fans would have loved to as well LOL
Great news! This is an upgrade over Smith, for sure, and we need run stuffers. Now we just need a decent FS that can cover. I like the idea of Smith backing up Landry. I wonder if the best move now is to bring back Leonard and draft a FS. I still think Leonard is good safety and can teach the new guys a lot, plus the price will be right. Atogwe would also be a decent compliment.
I like the 1-year deal. If it doesn't work out because of his injuries we aren't on the hook for more years. If it does we can offer an extension. Another low risk/high reward type of signing. I like Tanny's approach this offseason. But I thought no free agents wanted to sign with us?
Love the low risk/high reward signings. The upside to these guys that we are bringing in/looking at bringing in are great compared to what they are getting paid.
1 yr/4 million is a steal for a pro bowl, first round pick. I like it. we still have enough cap to sign Reggie Smith or OJ Atogwe.
If he's he's healthy, he's a pro bowl caliber strong safety who fits Rex's scheme perfectly. 4 mill is overpaying slightly, but not out of the realm of reasonable. Tanny desperately needed to seal this deal and he did.
I'm waiting to see Cromartie's reaction to this. He has been GM'ing through twitter a lot recently ha
