Hmm, didn't you say you would eat you shoe if we sign him to a contract over 1-2 years? this signing will be like the other old guys we have picked up-- they will not do much on the field, and will leave us with a nice big cap hit in a few years. This is not a good signing -- we already need to draft his replacement and he has been on the team for two hours.
Well, at this point, it seems as if the FO is getting desperate. It's apparent Mangini wants to run a 3-4, but we just don't have the players to do it. Oelhoffen is a necessity signing for the switch, no matter how old he is.
I said von Oelhoffen, Washington, and McGinest would all not be signed for 3+ years. And if one of them was, it would be at a low cost, which is what this is. There's no use getting into this, you obviously have no idea what you're talking about.
eh, not a bad signing. he definatly helps out in the switch to the 3-4. with him and ellis on the ends we have some size and power, and im assuming robertson/pouha will be switching in at NT. but i think alot of people are too caught up in the whole 3-4 thing. i really think we'll only be using it maybe half the time seeing as we need to get all the players used to it before using it full-time.

No bro- you totally changed your stance- I told you there was no way those guys would sign for less that 3 years, and I was right so far for Kimo, and Washington. This is not a cheap signing. 3 mil a year-- that is more against the cap that probaly 70% of the players we have. You took the stance that these guy swould sign for 1 year, max of 2, and would be easy to cut. If we cut him after 1 year, we take over a 2 million hit-- after 2 years, it is still over 1 million... and now, we still need to draft his replacement.
I said not all of them would sign for 3+ years. And no one knows the cap situation until the year-by-year base salary is released, but we will definitely save money in the second and third years by cutting him.
