Broncos should back off- after all, we gave them the benefit of having DROB play on their squad for one season...
I wouldn't think there is all that much acrimony with the Ravens. Ryan has been a head coaching candidate for a couple of years now and it is not like Harbaugh brought him in when he arrived. As for the players, the talk all year was that there were a number of FAs on Raven defense and it was unlikely they would hold onto all of them. (Did they even make an offer to Leonhard?)
The initial post said "Jets sign Jim Leonhard." I edited it because the initial reports turned out to be half-true. www.jetsdaily.com
http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/03/03/done-deal-in-new-york-for-leonhard/ DONE DEAL IN NEW YORK FOR LEONHARD Posted by Mike Florio on March 3, 2009, 1:16 p.m. EST After nearly reneging on a verbal agreement to join the New York Jets, Ravens free-agent safety Jim Leonhard has officially agreed to terms. Or has he? (Insert short burst of ominous music here.) The news comes from Adam Schefter of NFL Network, who says it’s a three-year deal. Word broke earlier in the day of Leonhard’s verbal agreement. And then the Broncos got involved.
Not sure if I put alot of stock into PFT. But if Schefter and NFL Network is reporting I can believe it.
A late bid by the Broncos has Ravens safety Jim Leonhard reconsidering his verbal agreement to sign a free-agent contract with the Jets, a source told FOXSports.com. Leonhard was was a one of Baltimore's biggest defensive surprises last year after signing a free-agent deal with the Ravens. The ex-Bills safety registered a career-high 68 tackles and six passes defended for Baltimore's No. 2-ranked defense in 2008. Cross your fingers.
