Based on that rule it would be illegal for a RB to lead with his helmet. It clear stats a player. The rule is up for interpretation, but the meaning of this rule is to handle spearing, IMO. Spearing is illegal, and has been for quite some time. However, based on your interpretation, it could be called. My interpretation is that is not unnecessary, and not violent (not to intentionally injury a player). I believe that if you were to investigate it, there will be a definition of what violent means. You make a valid argument with the rules, and I could be wrong. However, I believe it is out of context. JMO
Does this guy have any serious potential that Rex can coach up, or is he just to plug a hole in depth?
