I'm not too familiar with Warren's skillset so i can't say it applies to him, but a lack of 4.4 speed doesn't always doom a corner. there are a few corners who don't have the blazing 40 times but compensate with excellent positioning, ball recognition and physicality at the line.

last year it was malcolm jenkins people were a bit unsure of. they loved his college career and his playmaking ability but he wasnt as fast as some of the other corners.

Gotta say i am excited, how this kid plumetted to the bottom, or fell the cracks idk, but it appears we managed to swipe yet another kid from this draft class. If only we could have stolen Barnes as well... oh well gotta say I am certainly pumped about this class coming in!

Our pass defense is going to be downright scary this year...I'm thinking Lowery should rotate in the FS spot at times

This move looks like it fits in with Rex & FO commitment to take the best football players - not necessarily the players who do best at the combine / pro day.

    Very wise IMO.

Im still imaging us grabbing the unsigned Sharper this summer and thinking how we could be one of the best defenses of all time

good call they want players who show up on sunday (ok well saturday in this case) instead of the guys with the crazy workout numbers.

To be entirely honest, this change in philosophy is no doubt due to the disaster pick of Gholston and in the end it may be directly responsible to us not picking other workout guys, while picking more players like Sanchez and Greene who are pure football guys. So in fact their may indeed be a positive in the gholston pick. It gave us Ryan and a better draft philosophy that so far has lead to some stellar ball players being selected.

For sure...This defense looks like it could be historically bad ass.

It wouldnt even be remotely fair, and you just know if the opportunity arises for Sharper to become a Jet, Rex will not be able to help himself. If it's possible, then Sharper will be a Jet.

How can you not spend a few seconds thinking how utterly amazing it would be. Any piece that could be of value needs to be brought in to try and put us over the top! Sharper most definately counts as one of those pieces...

Sanchez was kind of a workout guy. After his proday, he started shooting up the first round. I don't mean this in a bad way, but his stock definitely improved after his workouts.

While Sanchez stock too off after his pro day, I don't think it had anything to do with how fast he ran the 40, or how many times he benched 225 lbs.

Sanchez flew up the boards because teams saw a guy willing to spend 24 hours a day 365 days a year trying to become the best quarterback he possibly could be. They saw his ability to lead, and they saw ability to make all the throws. Every single one of those things screams football guy, not workout warrior.

Do you think bringing in all this talent at CB hurts Revis's chances of having another dominant season? Last year Revis was so much better than our other corners that it forced QBs to throw to their 2nd and 3rd. Now with all this added talent I think they will have to take more shots revis's way. This is good for us as a team, but I think the sheer shut-down dominance is probably over.

    Sacriligius I know.

Are you trying to say it's a bad thing if we can force teams to throw Revis's way? I'd LOVE it if teams were forced to throw his way. His completion % against won't suffer.

The Saints drafted Patrick Robinson so I guess they're planning on moving Jenkins to FS. Is there a way for Sharper to still be available when we can start adding UFAs freely? I've heard that he'd love to play here so if the opportunity arises I'm sure we'll add him.

As someone said earlier it was probably the poor speeds he turned in at the Combine and Pro Day. So NFL teams dropped his value based on workout performance instead of based on football performance - which is exactly what the Jets said they were not going to do.

And they are somewhat correct, Warren will have trouble recovering and getting back to a WR with speed. But he'll still be great as a safety and helping to come up and stop the run - he's also a very good open field tackler.

    I really like him.
