Nothing better than working with your competition day in day out to out work them, out prepare them and step the hell up. Having competition in front of our promising youngsters will only make the driven ones better. Tbf, Wilson, AVT, MC and MC2 along with Moore are all starters. The rest have the chance to get it. And even if Echols and/or MC2 gets bumped to become a rotational piece....is that really so bad considering where they got drafted??? Getting good/great depth in the 5th and 6th round is not the end of the world.
Makes me think we won't be going CB in the draft, well not a high one anyway, 11m is too much for a depth signing as you stated and we have Hall who is still likely CB1 and then Echols, MC and Guidry is 5 CB's enough?
solid JD signing. a low name guy who performed very well and we get on a bargain. adds a lot of depth too now. it's going to be reed and hall on the outside with carter and guidry as the Ni/Di and if someone goes down echols can go in on the outside and reed can play in the slot. really makes me thing CB is no longer needed in the draft but a late round flyer if someone falls is always welcome.
The more I read the more I like this signing. And I liked it initially. Anyone saying this guy is depth should look more into his resume because he's a high-end starter who should form a fantastic starting duo with Bryce Hall. I also think this makes CB in the draft not needed. This group wasn't that bad last year as it was and now added a great starter. If anything, he's underrated and my best guess is being an outside CB at 5-9 is part of that. Plus, Saleh coached him for two years so they know what they're getting. Sounds like an excellent cover corner, strong run defender, and great character
This is exactly why JD made this signing. However, I don't think this excludes us from taking a CB in the early rounds. Just means that we don't HAVE to.
I don't see much of an upside--ok, he's a little better than our 2nd year guys right now--so what? Hope JD proves me wrong but I give this move 2 thumbs down.
I watched a lot of 'hawks games and he was nothing special--did his job. Considering James Daniels just signed 3yr/26 million with Steelers I don't see this as a good buy. One of our young guys could easily be as good as him by the end of their 2nd year.
How do you come to the conclusion he's only a little better than our 2nd year guys? This guy has been a fantastic starter. And how do you compare the markets for OG and CBs?
maybe he did his job so well it didn’t seem like he was so special? I mean based off the numbers provided and stats I will say the pros know he was more than just ok
It's not about the age with the Reed deal. I love that he's young and on the rise. I just don't want to pay someone as if they've already ascended. Guarantees will probably make this contract look a lot better so I'm gonna wait til those numbers come out.
Probably got picked on because Adams shut down half the field. Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
I’m starting to like every other signing. We just signed a 5’9” corner to play outside with one true year of starting experience. He’s young though so that’s a positive. I do like Whitehead though.
You have no idea what you’re talking about. Lol. It’s a great value sign and he’s an absolute starter. Ranks very high in almost every aspect. Stop pretending you ever heard of him before today Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
How is this a gamble? What's risky about it? I think I saw that he was the ninth-rated CB in the NFL last year. Yeah, it would be surprising for us to take Gardner now, but it could happen if JD goes strictly BPA in the draft.
My point is we didnt need a CB--surely not a 3yr/33. We could have used Daniels at 26mm--don't want to go down the rabbit hole with you. I'm judging based upon the whole FA class.
