yes but to be paid like this they have to start on the outside in 2 wide sets and be good at it..brandon flowers does this…and so did buster but he isn't good
If you think Wilson and Skrine are on the same level, you're either lying about watching a lot of Skrine this season or you don't know what you're looking for when you watch games.
No...Skrine is better than Wilson. Very solid nickel back.....borderline #2 CB. Wilson is none of those...
so from first impressions he's like a CB equivalent of a gunslinger QB. a big playmaker but a bit reckless. his price means little next to his final role, but he'll be a key piece to the D for sure being that his deal essentially keeps him on for at least two years,.
this is not solid nickel back money there paying him…there paying him good starting money…cover #2 wr's money…he's not that
really, CB's are overpriced in general. that market's good and inflated, in a world where a Maxwell gets 6 years 60 million this is like a steal in comparison.
$13 mil guaranteed over 4 years for a solid nickel corner... what is the problem? Wilson shouldn't even be in the NFL, and probably won't be.
Yea but is Skrine worth that money? That's in the same ballpark as what Alteran Verner got last year. Between this contract and the the James Carpenter contract I'm starting to question McCagnan's cap management. You don't pay a nickel corner $6M a year...
alteran verner is a good corner..he is the bucs #1 corner..we are paying buster who is a nickel corner to be a starter…its a gamble
Unfortunately that appears to be the going rate for CBs in this market.....I would rather they slightly overpay Skrine then get a "deal" by resigning Wilson. He stinks........
VERY curious as to how this will be structured. a bigger payday down the line a big signing bonus, what we looking at? we need to spend and the FA market (particularly CB) is inflated, thus overpay's on our end.
"boston terrier of a defensive back" lol, i like that for some reason... also mentions how much entirely different coaching staffs have liked him in Cle, and he was able to hold off high draft picks to retain his starting role. there might be more to Skrine then we realize... would like to see what he can do in the slot, and we know he's got outside experience if needed.
It is a gamble but #1 I think Skrine was signed with a bigger deal coming (Revis) and #2 how would you feel if the Jets went into 2015 with Revis, Skrine, Milliner, and McDougle as the CBs. Barring injuries wouldn't the CB position now be considered a strength rather than a weakness? That is one of the things this new regime had to do this offseason.......
