My pleasure to bestow my expert opinion on you. For you to not see how putrid Sanchez has been despite your attending every game since 1980, tells me you were probably watching the cheerleaders instead of the game. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
just makes you think they need a vet that has started some games and won't be a distraction if they have to play. No one will say or Brady Quinn is the future! Sanchez is probably gonna be out awhile.
Why would it mean that? This stinks of the Revis situation to me minus the dickhead agents leaking BS to the public. Seems like idzik is playing a Sanchez trade attempt close to the vest and he's going to pull the trigger at the last minute. Sanchez will be traded or cut prior to Sunday Imo.
who will trade for that salary? He would have to come in day 1 as a starter and be 100% healthy -- i don't think you can meet any of those items.
McElroy was a backup... that was hurt. I don't necessarily think Idzik believed that mcelroy was worse than Quinn, rather he probably thought that should Smith go down he doesn't want there to be ONLY ONE other QB capable of playing in Simms. if G-mac was healthy you may have had a case, but thats a flawed argument given the circumstances. a trade? sorry man that might go with your "geno announced as starter after DET" prediction in terms of being off. who would they even trade too? and for what? and who would they accept that kind of salary? I'd think he'd try that after the season, which he even did for tebow, than right now.
I don't really think a trade is realistic but idzik strikes me as the type of person to try and get as much value as possible out of everything. My guess is that he ends up getting cut but that he's trying his best to get some value at this point.
Pretty sure the Jets could offer to pay a portion of his salary like the broncos did with the Tebow trade. Really if the Jets could get another team to just pay 2M of his salary and give us a 6th it would be a coup on Idzik's part. I think if that were going to happen it would have went down months ago though...
It doesn't if the jets decided they're comfortable going into the season with geno starting and they want to avoid a potentially toxic situation.
Agreed. The Jets are on the hook for the whole salary. If someone would be willing to assume part of the salary, even a small part, and give us something in return, a draft choice or a player, it would be a good deal. Does anyone knowhow that would effect our cap? There are teams that thought they were set at QB months ago who now need one. Not very likely scenario but one can hope.
No one is renting Sanchez for $6 million or $3 million. Sanchez will play this season because at some point they will give up on Smith being ready. Nothing is wrong with that ... guy isn't a top 10 pick...he was 39th. Not many 39th picks come in day one to the NFL and perform without having everything else around him be really established.Jets aren't there which puts way to much pressure on a guy that is still a season of watching from being NFL ready.
lol. A guy with a torn shoulder or whatever injury it is their hiding and a massive salary isn't going to be traded for dogshit. Like, literally no team in the NFL would trade actual canine fleeces for Mark Sanchez.
If Al Davis were still alive I'd say the Raiders for definite But their QB situation is arguably worse than ours, they have now anointed Terrelle Pryor as starting QB, I don't know how it would be done, but if the arrival of Quinn is spelling the end for Sanchez, then this is where he's going I believe
I think once Sanchez is healthy, Quinn is gone. Sanchez is here for the long haul. I'm sure Idzik would love to get rid of the smell of Tanenbaum's mistake, but that's not going to happen. That's a lot of change to just throw aside just because you don't like someone else's bad choices. The Jets should just let this play out. The nightmare will be over come January. I honestly believe Sanchez would have been fine if the Jets had stayed with the plan of surrounding him with a good offensive line and let him hand the ball off to whatever running back they had. But Sanchez seemed to unravel during and after that game in Miami where Holmes nearly bitchslapped him on the field. I honestly feel bad for the guy. Say what you will, he's been a pretty decent guy through this whole wretched year and a half.
