Amazing what sports "reporting" has come to, when the complete speculation (without any indication from the organization itself) of one reporter is picked up as "news" by another reporter. I am very disappointed that we haven't yet gotten reports that "Some posters on theganggreen.com think that the Jets are better than is generally believed, and wouldn't be shocked if the team wins 8 or 9 games."
Yep. Quinn has proven he can take a snap. He hasn't proven much beyond that but... he can take a NFL snap. :metal:
I thought Clausen would get a gig before Quinn honestly.....Clausen got buried badly in Carolina and never got a real fair chance there.
Um... you made this post 5 posts into the thread and only two of those posts seemed to resemble being up in arms. Two posts equal the entire fanbase?
Hopefully traded. It would be a stroke of brilliance to get compensation for a dead man walking. Sent from my HTC6990LVW using Tapatalk
The only reason I can muster up for this terrible signing is to maybe boost genos confidence cause their is way better options out there. Carr,VY,Causon ,Skelton,Edwards are all better options. If they wanted a mentor D.Dixon would have been better and can play the wildcat. Quinn has been on 6 teams already. He stinks. I really wanted Carr. He would be a good mentor and has 2 SB's as a backup. Speaking of D.Carr. Does anyone watch his brother at fresno? Kid got skills and a rocket arm.
So McElroy was serving as a mentor for Smith during the off-season...he gets cut...and they sign Brady Quinn...to serve as a mentor for Smith. Jets logic never fails.
where did it say they signed him to be a mentor? where does it say anything more than they signed B.Quinn and released Harrell? jet fans like you are exactly who cimini and Mehta are playing to good job bro
If Sanchez got cut during the season what would the cap ramifications be, if any? I was a big Quinn fan at ND. Obviously he never panned out in the pros. He probably won't here either but at least he's a veteran QB who can help mentor Geno. I like how Idzik's handling this roster in his early tenure.
I can't believe our FO/CS passed on Tyler Thigpen. Evidently we want Qb's that suck to the extreme instead of just regular sucking. WTG Jets FO !
There have been a number of stories saying that McElroy has been tutoring, training and helping Smith out this off-season. If McElroy had not gotten injured he would likely be the teams number 2 QB this season and still helping Smith. I have a hard time seeing Quinn filling that mentor role. I recall in Cleveland during camp Quinn got busted for sending in the offensive plays to the defense when Anderson was competing against him for the QB job. He has never seemed to be an impressive individual. But supposedly David Lee loves Quinn whcih seemed to be why we had tried to sign him early in the offseason.
