Exactly. I think it's funny that Jeff Jagodzinski was the Boston College coach and was VERY successful (mostly because of Matt Ryan). He then got fired just because he took an interview for the Jets Head Coaching vacancy, which he had absolutely no shot in hell of getting. Then he got hired as the Bucs' OC, and changed all the terminology of the offense, and then got fired before the season even started.
The best image I can come up with for Raheem Morris is Radio Raheem from Do the Right Thing getting choked to death by the cop. Except the cop is every decision he has made as a head coach.
Ehh, Sanchez is about a year and some months older than Freeman. BFD. Sanchez was the 7th best prospect in the entire country in 2005 and Josh Freeman was 92nd in 2006. Anyways, people assume they've played just as much football as each other - not true. Freeman played in 35 games a collegiate quarterback. K-State didn't finish better than 6-6 with Freeman as a starter. I know that's not all on him, because the Wildcats are a very mediocre team, but 34 INT in 35 games in on him. Mark Sanchez was redshirted and only started one full season at USC - a very productive season (34 TDs and 10 INTS). Pete Carroll is a complete douche, but he knows how to develop quarterbacks. Sanchez was so successful as a one year starter because he was able to absorb the system and learn from Leinart and Booty. Josh Freeman was NOT redshirted and ended up started 8 games as a true freshman. Freeman's been thrown into the fire since college and things have never really clicked for him. He's always been a horrible decision maker and his inaccuracy is a huge red flag. I know Josh Freeman has a gun and he's a big dude, but that's not all you need to play quarterback in this league. Mark Sanchez is further along in his mental development and he's a much more mature player. Categories like footwork, poise, and accuracy also go to Mark Sanchez. I've been saying it since January or February - Mark Sanchez is the best quarterback prospect of the 2009 NFL draft.
Sadly, for most fans, they think that's all you need to be a QB in the NFL. Sanchez doesn't have that look to him, so the dopes won't give him leeway like they do with Freeman. Freeman sucks, he's on a shitty team, he's not going to be the next Culpepper.
Freeman doesn't suck. He's a rookie. He has some skills. You have to give these guys some time to develop. Same with Sanchez. He's still learning.
Sanchez was the overall better pick he is more composed in the pocket and makes better decisions though not that far ahead of freeman he still was the better choice.. Freeman takes a snap and doesnt know what to do with the football and rolls out and runs holds the ball and gets sacked instead of throwing it out of bounds...
he will be. not at any point yesterday did the team look ready to play or did he look like he knew what he was doing. considering their record, you have to assume that is the case for the entire season. Bucs made a risky hire and it appears it was a bad idea. may as well cut your losses now and try to get the team better.
i'm guessing your not that old. football is a game, and a bussiness about patience, you were swinging on freeman's dick after one game.
yeah the 1st game he played where he completed under 50% of his passes and ESPN made him look good with his 3 TD passes.
I love how half this thread is sarcasm and the other half is people actually trying to talk football. However, We should've taken Brady Quinn over Darelle Revis as well.
Sachez has shown glimpses...... Freeman has a rocket-launcher for an arm. What do Jets look like with Freeman at the helm. Sanchez seems bright, but doesn't have a real rocket..... Sanchez seems short for a Qb ...sometimes ? We will see.... What about 3rd string QB O'connell ? Big QB & a big arm ?
