That's a misconception among many Protestants. But all of the Protestant denominations were started by everyday people like Joel Osteen hundreds of years after Christ, with really no solid evidence to support their changes to Church doctrine. But this discussion doesn't belong here, I'm going to try to start a thread in the non-sports forum if you are interested in continuing this respectful discussion there. (I just hope a certain poster doesn't hijack it)
Trent Dilfer is an absolute moron, but one thing he said yesterday that I like is that the only plays where you can judge a college spread QB are in the red zone. I thought Petty looked good inside the 10 in this game and made a couple nice anticipatory tight window throws.
He was 1000x better than Cook in that game and he should have come out with the win. That game really soured me on Cook, was a fluke they won. _
Normally taking command of a huddle would be a big concern for a spread QB but that's one area where I have no doubts about Petty. Guys will take to him.
All of the Catholic churches I have attended are packed, standing room only if you get there late. And the Sacraments are the only true Spiritual food for the soul, blessed by an actual Priest, an actual cleric, not a lay person standing up talking about what he read in the Bible with no formal instruction in theology. I don't mean to insult Protestants here, but that's all their "church services" amount to, you can't properly call it a Mass because there's no properly ordained Priest consecrating the Blessed Sacrament, the True Presence of Christ (which is directly from the Bible btw, from the mouth of Jesus Himself, "...unless you eat of my flesh and drink of my blood, you shall not have life within you, he doesn't say it is just a symbol of his presence, but in a supernatural way the Priest changes the bread and wine into the body and blood of Christ, although the appearance of both remain the same). Actually it's Christ (God) effecting this transformation through the Priest. Anyway, we are going to piss off a couple people here, and this discussion really doesn't belong in this forum and in this thread, so can we continue this in the non-sports forum? I will start a thread there if you are interested. KEEP RELIGION AWAY FROM FOOTBALL TOPICS!
Eyewitness accounts from 2,000 years ago, translated countless times over many languages. Right, sorry for not believing those. Look man, I'm finished with this conversation in this thread. If you would like to discuss this in private, send me a PM, if not, that's fine as well.
Its amazing that a 4th round QB has 11 pages already,Called this pick had a feeling it was headed this way.I guess the Matt Simms era is over.
After it was clear we had no shot at MM, this was my fallback. When we traded up I got curious only to be very pleasantly surprised. _
Petty is a great dude too. A really popular teammate unlike our current QBs. I think Gailey can turn him into something. Mick Maccagnan gets shit done
He reminds me of a less mobile Geno Smith. We won't be seeing this guy on the field for at least another two seasons. Art Brile's offense contains zero NFL concepts and he wasn't even asked to read defenses. I honestly do not think he even knows how to read defenses, and his back injury concerns me. I'll definitely be rooting for him, but I don't see him becoming a competent starter in the NFL.
OK, will do. You are right, this discussion doesn't belong here. And thank you for being respectful of my views even though you don't agree with them. A mature, respectful debate is a great thing, and I appreciate your feedback!
I think this is most likely the case. Petty comes in to replace Simms as low man on the totem pole, gets to hold the clipboard for a year or so and try to refine his game.
Got to say one thing I like about Petty. He's cocky. Has that "Aww schucks, I know I'm good!" thing going on. I like that.
