It's not a trick play. It's an approach that allows him to boot it. Everyone in the NFL is faster, as long as he gets it off before they get to him, he'll be good

I didn't say it was a trick play, but it's something he does fairly often, and if he always runs to the right when he kicks it rugby style other teams will know that, adapt, and quite possibly block a number of those kicks. I've seen him punt in games and looked at video of him. He doesn't always kick it rugby style. Sometimes he stays put and punts it in a normal fashion, but when he kicks it rugby style, that decision is already made before the snap, it's not because his protection breaks down..

Everyone in the NFL is faster? Really? Well, knock me over with a feather! In the clips I've seen of him, some of his kicks were at a fairly low trajectory, and think would quite possibly be subject to blocking fairly easily. There's no other reason why not a single team drafted him, when he was a 2x Ray Guy Award winner and was the best punter in college the last 2 years.

No need for the sarcasm. Many great players go undrafted. When he rolls out to the right the line can shift out that way also.

I used sarcasm because I thought your comment about everyone in the NFL is faster was condescending and as if I didn't know that fact. In addition, you made the comment that it wasn't a trick play, when I never said it was, which I took for your trying to discredit my post. In fact, I can't even remember the last time you responded to one of my posts in a civil fashion, so why should I think it was anything but another insult or dig? If you didn't intend it that way fine.

I don't know about "many" great players going undrafted, but some of them certainly do. Still, do you not find it odd that the #s 2, 3 & 4 punters were drafted, but the #1 punter was not? I didn't read of any negative things about Hackett entering the draft. Afterwards, I heard something about his quirky behavior (whatever that means) and eccentric personality. Do you think it was because of his small stature and fear that he might be more injury prone? his personality? the rugby style kicking and fear of the kicks being blocked?

My number 2 rated QB didn't get drafted, so no, I don't find it odd that the number 1 rated punter didn't.
