"The unprecedented availability comes in the midst of a weak economy, the Jets coming off a disappointing season and fan resentment about the cost of ?personal seat licenses? for the new stadium." Ya think?
http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2009/07/ny_jets_announce_rare_season_t.html its an all out fire sale.whats next buy 1 get 1 free.
Didn't read through this entire thread but I believe it just got worse. Both my son and I just got telephone calls from The Jets ticket office trying to get us to buy tickets. I would have to guess that has never happened before. Not ever.
You're close. I think I was around 7000 on the list. My son was maybe 4000. We might have a legitmate worry about blacked out games this year. I can't imagine Woody paying one cent to buy up unsold tickets.
Yeah, yeah..I get it. Do you get the fact that nobody wants these seats at any price? It's not the economy, it's the PSLs although there are even nosebleed seats that nobody wants either. I got on the list late last year and they are calling me at home. That doesn't bode well for them selling out.
Wait, I'm still confused. I thought there were no PSLs for one more year? Why did everyone jump ship already for the last season at the Meadowlands? Price basically the same and no PSLs. I'm considering buying them but am now concerned I won't even be able to sell them for face for the ones I can't make. Why is no one buying them if the price isn't that bad for one last year??
Don't think for one second that you will get above face, face, or even 60% of face for the games you can't go to...unless you can't make the Home Opener against the Pats? That will be the only game you can make money on your seats. Forget about the rest of them...and forget about the Jan. 3, 2010 game against the Bengals. You might as well burn those along with your Yule Log.
Haha alright good to know. Why is it that everyone's bailing on their seats a year early? I don't get it.
i think many see the ineviteable and dont want to prolong things any further. many feel its time to move on. the economy im sure is playing a very big part in the ticket sales also. it could also be that nyjets fans are have had enough. 40 years and counting and now the psl screwing. chill dudes
People are angry...they are angry at the organization that we have supported for so many years. Angry at the cost of the stadium, both building costs and fan costs, at the silly extas like martini bars and sushi restaurants, and the fact that everyone was happy where they were. People are bailing because they also feel betrayed by this team, so why should the spend another dime supporting them?? Personally, I'm going to try and enjoy this season. But like the past 12 years that I've been in my seats, and the prior 25 that I've spent going to games...they will break our hearts. So most feel "why bother?" There are A LOT of very very unhappy people this year, and that's why people are saying SEE YA! Lots of people are being uprooted from the sections and seats they love, to much higher vantage points. Some will put up with the higher seats, some are saying screw this team. The ones that are saying screw it, are most likely from parts of NJ or NY that make it an all day affair to attend a Jets game. I really can't think of many other reasons other than a big "FUK YOU WOODY"...
its been discussed that a fairly large amount of seat owners were not actually jets fans and were reselling the tickets. or there were fans holding onto them simply to pass them onto their kids. there are a ton of people who are just pissed that the jets have screwed them like a 2 dollar ho. they have essentially pissed off every single person they could possibly piss off. they have no vision as far as what was going to happen. they failed to realize what their fans were all about and what they were wiling to take. they have failed miserfuckinably. and now they will use the bullshit even more as they try to dig their way out of the hole they have dug. why must my teams have such shitty owners?
They are angry and do not believe this team can be a Super Bowl contender in 2009. I don't agree with their decision to give the seats up a year early, but that is mostly their thoughts as to why they are giving them up. Why waste another $2+ grand on an organization that could care less about the middle class fans the fanbase was built on.
Yep...reason why I gave them up...no longer an investment. I can go to any game, tickets are in abundance in the parking lot.
